The First Look At The Super Costumes For Shazam! Fury Of The Gods Is Here But With A Noticeable Change In The Casting…

We’re seriously being spoilt with DC Comics super suits! First, we were treated to the first look at Batwing in Batwoman, now it’s an official look at Shazam! sequel. The new superhero costumes for the upcoming Shazam! Fury of the Gods have dropped and BOY do they look amazing. There’s also a noticeable difference in the casting of the actors playing the adult versions of the Shazam family as seen in the first official photo released on Twitter.

Grace Fulton, who plays Mary, the eldest of Billy’s foster siblings is now also playing the adult version of her own character. It’s currently unclear why this has occurred. The obvious explanation is that Michelle Borth who played adult Mary in the first movie was unavailable. Hopefully, there will be an in-universe explanation for this.

Going back to the costumes, they look so much better than the original suits from the first movie. What we love is the design of Mary’s costume. It gives off Gal Gadot Woman Woman vibes just with a cape and without a tiara. What we love is how Darla has a full body suit like she did last time and Mary still has the skirt.

The guys look just amazing and the CGI capes are the right call because the last thing they would want is to be tripping over them while filming. Henry Cavill had a similar thing done to him when he was filming Justice League. Why it wasn’t done on Stargirl with Hourman and Dragon King is anyone’s guess but it doesn’t matter, though if Edna Mode was a DC Comics character she’d be fuming over the capes.
