Oprah Winfrey has a way of getting people to open up in the interviews she does with them. She makes them out to be special. For anyone who might’ve been living in a cave, she recently did a sit down with Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan. But, the question on everyone’s minds is why did the famed talk show queen want to get a tell-all with Markle?
What made Meghan so special that Oprah just had to interview her? That’s what we’re going to try and establish in this post. Now, before we begin, we want all the Sugars to know that we are not trashing your precious Sussexes. We are just trying to get to the bottom of everything that was said in last month’s interview. So, without much delay, let’s dive into it.
Before The Wedding
Meghan makes reference to a conversation she had with Oprah prior to the 2018 wedding before she [Markle] had even laid the groundwork as a working royal. We’re just going to ignore the crap she spewed about how palace staffer had to be in the room for the chat. There is no way this would’ve happened unless she was recording information for blackmail purposes later.
Now, before Meghan even got with Harry, there is no way Oprah would’ve done a tell-all with her. It was only when she met the Duke of Sussex would she have done it. After all, the Media Queen had interviewed Sarah Ferguson “Fergie” before. When Markle was on Suits, she was nothing more a D-list actress. Suddenly, her fame is catapults when she becomes Prince Harry’s ‘The One’.
Could Oprah Have Wanted To Interview Meghan Because She Is The First Biracial American To Marry Into The British Royal Family?
Meghan might believe she is special because she is the first divorced mixed-race American to marry into the royal family, but she’s not. Whatever the truth is of how she met Oprah, one thing is certain; she believed her act. It’s possible that because Markle identifies herself as black, this is what propelled Ms Winfrey to want to talk to her.
However, Meghan forgets one thing; she’s half-white but in her mind, she is entirely black. Odd because in her early acting career, she passed herself as white if rumours are to be believed. There is also nothing special about her. She is just another narcissist looking to get rich and famous. Finally, she uses people to get what she wants. She then dumps the ones who are no longer of any use to her.
Oprah is a smart cookie. There’s no denying that. However, the interview was not that much a success, nor was it one of her best. There was no fact-checking done which a lot of media outlets (us included) had to do afterwards. She just took Meghan and Harry’s word and ran with it as ‘their truth’.
