Naomi: Zumbado Isn’t The Bad Guy We Thought He Was!

Zumbado

Some characters radiate bad when they’re not – Naomi threw a wrench in the works in this week’s episode. Now, we haven’t covered the show a lot given there isn’t a lot of twists. However, the current offering has us excited for what could potentially come next for the CW’s newest female hero. So, we wanted to talk about Zumbado, who is supposed to be the villain. We got to see a whole other side to him, which started last week when he saves Naomi from Doctor Bell.

This week’s episode expands on that further, with Zumbado and Naomi spending the entire episode together. What’s more, it gives Naomi time away from her friends and parents, who are present almost constantly. To be honest, the way the story was going, we had every thought that Zumbado was going to reveal himself to be Naomi’s biological father. Though, it didn’t come to this. If it had, it would’ve been serious Darth Vader-Luke Skywalker familial vibes. We weren’t expecting it would go down that route, but we weren’t disappointed either.

Zumbado explains to Naomi throughout the episode that he was blamed for something he didn’t do by Akira. He also reveals that there’s a reason he’s being hunted. He was friends with her biological parents and that she had become a target a birth because two members of the 29, the team he was on, had her. This was the reason she had powers.

Purple Meteo Shower

Earth-29 was struck by a purple meteor shower and this is how people ended up with powers. Zumbado vowed to watch over Naomi, hence, the reason he settled in her hometown. He was never a used car salesman as it was just a cover. Finally, he adapted to the town, so he didn’t stick out and blow his cover.
