Mohan Kapur, the actor best known for playing Kamala Khan’s loveable father, Yusuf Khan, in Ms Marvel and the upcoming The Marvels film, has gotten into serious hot water. The Direct reports that the actor allegedly sexually harassed a teenage girl by exposing himself and sending her nudes.
The girl accusing Mohan Kapur of grooming her explained in a series of tweets that when she was fifteen, she became friends with the actor’s then-partner and associated with him. Over time, he became fixated on her and started sending her explicit texts and nude photos of himself.
Mohan Kapur then allegedly tried gaslighting her, claiming she was the problem, not him. The girl then alleges that the actor kept apologising and that he was depressed. Finally, the abuse got so bad that the teenager claimed she even considered committing suicide.
The former partner of Mohan Kapur also gaslit the girl from what she alleges. According to the alleged victim, the woman was well-aware of the type of man he was but did nothing to stop it.
What Happens With Mohan Kapurs Role Now?
It is unclear what will happen with the Yusuf Khan role after The Marvels. According to The Direct, the allegations are unlikely to affect the character in any way. On the other hand, it could be possible that the role is written out by way of a death offscreen, being removed without any explanation or the character is recast.
If the character were to be recast, this would not be the first time in the MCU. However, it would be the first time an actor involved with the franchise juggernaut has been accused of sexual harassment.
