Meghan Is NO Royal Fashion Icon! – OPINION

It seems that the House of Dior wants nothing to do with Meghan Markle or Prince Harry. The former actress does not have what it takes to become a royal fashion icon.

Meghan Markle has no fashion sense, making luxury brands look tacky and cheap. She doesn’t believe in tailoring despite the Netflix footage showing her getting that awful Carolina Herrera Plunge Neck Silk-Faille Gown she wore to the Intrepid Awards altered. She buys the most expensive clothing and thinks that because she likes them, they suit her.

Royal Fashion Examples

Royal fashion lasts long after the royals in question are dead. For example, Queen Mary of Teck, the late Queen Elizabeth II’s paternal grandmother, was well-known for her jewellery. She was why the British royals have such an extensive tiara collection.

Another example we can use is Diana, Princess of Wales, who always broke the royal fashion rules. Her sapphire engagement ring, the now famous 12-karat oval Ceylon sapphire set in 18-karat white gold and surrounded by 14 solitaire diamonds now sits on the finger of her daughter-in-law, Catherine, The Princess of Wales. She also wore off-the-shoulder gowns like her infamous revenge dress and the outfit famously dubbed the Travolta dress as she danced with John Travolta. She also shook hands with HIV patients without gloves on.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden is another excellent example of royal fashion. She always wears her hair in an updo, even when she doesn’t need to. Also, her sister, Princess Madeleine, is well known for wearing the aquamarine tiara to make her blue eyes pop.

Meghan Missed The Royal Fashion Mark

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle’s royal fashion is a huge miss. Why? Because she thought she looked good in everything she wore and that she was setting trends. At one point, she was, but over time, it became a total mess. If you compare her style to Catherine’s, it’s clear who comes out on top.

Catherine has long-standing relationships with many designers she has worn over the years. Alexander MacQueen. Jenny Packham. Elie Saab. She even called in Sarah Burton, who designed her Alexander MacQueen wedding dress, when Meghan was difficult over Princess Charlotte’s Givenchy bridesmaid dress. The result was that the dress had an uneven hemline, as seen in the image below.

Meghan, as mentioned earlier, does NOT believe in tailoring. She is notorious for having pants that drag on the ground.

Meghan once complained in an email that she was “tired” of people assuming she had a stylist. I believe Jessica Mulroney was her stylist. She was trying to keep her then-best friend out of the limelight, unaware that her “bestie” was using her to get noticed.

The blurry picture of Meghan in the Tartan was before the wedding. The second clearer image was taken last year during the Invictus Games.

Obsession With Luxury Brands

Even before she met Harry, Meghan had always been obsessed with luxury brands. She expected a hotel to fork out a ton of money for an extensive bathrobe and slippers when she was doing Reitman’s commercials, according to Tom Bower’s book, Revenge.

Meghan wanted to be the face of Ralph Lauren. Also, she never gave a damn about the British economy when she chose outfits to wear on engagements or at her own wedding/networking event.

Her wedding dress was by the French fashion house Givenchy. Her outfit at Archie’s christening was from Dior. She would later wear Dior to several events long after Megxit.

In conclusion, she and Harry have this terrible habit of putting out ideas and attempting to get deals. As mentioned earlier, Dior has said there is no brand deal for either of the Sussexes.
