Look out Harry and Meghan because one of your brands is pissed at you! Before we continue, we want to stress that what we say next is just a RUMOUR. MarkleNews1 on Instagram has posted a screenshot from their DMs detailing that there may be a lawsuit coming soon.
According to the account, Spotify is allegedly filing a lawsuit because Harry and Meghan failed to hold to the terms of their contract. Supposedly, the person who sent the DMs said that their attorney told them about it. Do we believe this? Umm… it’s an interesting take for sure. But until it is announced, then we’re taking it with a grain of salt like we do every other rumour.
If there is a lawsuit in the pipeline for Spotify, it will confirm what people have been saying all along. That Harry and Meghan are simply these deals for money and using their titles like a VIP keycard. For anyone asking what was said in the DMs, let’s talk about that now, shall we?
The DMs say that Harry and Meghan allegedly promised to produce 20 minutes of content for their podcast in exchange for US$25million which is about £18million in the UK. However, they have only produced one episode that runs for about 30 minutes. Given the reception it got, it didn’t do well at all. According to Metro, it ended up behind whale sounds when it first hit the platform before it climbed up the charts to the 7th spot. Also, it appears the lawsuit will be placed in August.
What makes this fascinating is that Harry and Meghan appear to have sold themselves short. Everything they do isn’t thought through properly.

There is so much that could happen if this lawsuit does happen. It might make Netflix think twice about their deal with the couple and pull their contract out from under them too. We can just see the headlines now about how angry Harry is that they’re having money take away. This would be massive blow to him and Meghan because Charles is no longer funding them if their whinge-fest on Oprah is any indication.
Reports came out that the Prince of Wales was more than happy to provide for them while they were getting set up in the US. However, once that was over and done with, he told them no more money would be provided. This is likely what Harry was talking about in the interview when he said, “My family literally cut me off financially in the first half of 2020.”
Also, he’s an almost 40-year-old man. Why does he need to be provided for by his father? Before Harry was even on Meghan’s radar, she was worth at least US$5million in her own right. If she hadn’t of gotten involved with him, she could’ve continued to boost the popularity of The Tig which earned her like US$80,000 annual via endorsements and sponsorships. As it’s been established that she had the potential to become a rival to Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop.
But, no. She gave it all up for a role she never wanted to stay in and thought she could capitalise off it and still be beloved. Sorry, never going to happen. You can’t marry into a family and just attempt to take over as its head. There is a process within the Firm and protocols in place. Meghan could’ve been as beloved as Catherine but was jealous.
