Meghan Was Wrong About Catherine Not Being A Hugger

Meghan, hug, Catherine

Meghan Markle does not know Catherine, the Princess of Wales. She didn’t want to get to know her. All she wanted was to tarnish her sister-in-law’s reputation and make her out to be cold. If Harry had married anyone else, the sisters-in-law would’ve gotten along. But the future Queen Consort and the Duchess of Sussex are very different women. We’re here to tell you that Kate does hug people. It’s well-documented. Especially before Markle’s statement about how William and his wife thought her forward with wanting to hug them on their first meeting was “jarring.”

The Sussexes can claim that Meghan being a hugger is an American thing all they want, but this goes hand-in-hand with the comment Harry made in Spare about Meghan asking Catherine, who was pregnant with Prince Louis, to use her lipgloss. First, sharing your lip balm with anyone is NOT an American thing. Even in Australia, we don’t know anyone who would share their makeup with other people. Also, whether the tube tip touched her lips or hands doesn’t matter. There is no telling what Meghan was doing; she and Catherine barely knew each other. Also, if Catherine had used it afterwards, it could’ve harmed her baby. Also, we don’t know whether this story is true. We know from various media reports that Harry had to add more material because it wasn’t juicy enough.

Anyway, besides the point, Catherine is a well-known hugger. As is Prince William. However, if you were a stranger, it’s doubtful they would hug a person they’ve only just met. So yes, they hug people during engagements, but they give permission before the person hugs them if Meghan throws herself at them without warning, which violates a person’s personal space.

Yes, some people go in for the hug, but some people aren’t huggers. Meghan didn’t even stop to consider that. Also, it’s not “an American thing.” It’s about respecting people’s private territory. Unfortunately, this seems to be an excuse Harry and Markle use a lot now.

Hugging someone that doesn’t want to be hugged can be seen as assault. That is, if you look at it logically. Also, how would Meghan feel if someone invaded her personal space without her consent? She would be screaming abuse if someone even touched her by accident.

Returning to Catherine, here are a few examples of when she hugs people.

Note the third photo on the top row. The woman in the picture is one of the midwives who helped deliver Princess Charlotte, so Catherine knows this lady. Then, look at the photo in the middle on the bottom row. The man was one of the Princess of Wales’ teachers when she was at school, so, again, she knew him personally, and they had not seen each other in a long time. Would Meghan be caught dead hanging a pleb behind the scenes? Of course, she would if it were for the cameras.

Also, it’s interesting to note that many of the pictures we found were of Catherine hugging people of colour. Moreover, this goes to show Kate is not racist, which is often the argument the Sussex Squad love to throw into the void. Also, most of the pictures were taken before the Oprah interview. So yes, there are also some taken after the interview happened.

To add more fuel to the hug fire, Catherine’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, the brother of her mother, Carole Middleton, said, as per the Daily Mail in December 2022, that his niece is very much a hugger. He mentioned that at her sister, his second niece, Pippa’s wedding in 2017 to James Matthews, the then-Duchess of Cambridge ran over to hug his daughter, her cousin, when they arrived at the church.

Gary’s response came after the second half of the Sussexes’ self-titled Netflix series dropped. He could not believe that Catherine is portrayed as unsmiling, cold and unfeeling while dressed in red. In contrast, Meghan, pregnant with Archie, was dressed in innocent white and portrayed as the victim of an uncaring, wicked in-law.

As mentioned at the beginning of this post, Meghan did not take the time to know Catherine. If you think back to the Tig post on Princess Alia Al-Senussi, it’s clear now that Markle did not like Kate. We’ve mentioned this article before to prove that the now Duchess of Montecito (ah! Sussex) knew about the royal family long before she met Harry. She even insinuates in the post that some women don’t leave the “I want to be princess” dream behind. We hadn’t thought of that until some mentioned it on social media.

If you read between the lines, it appears that Meghan is taking a swipe at Catherine for waiting a decade for William to marry her. Hmm. This is rich coming from the woman who dated Trevor Engelson for almost a decade before marrying him, and the marriage not lasting two years.

Catherine and William did not marry because it was expected. They married each other because they loved each other. Moreover, they did not pull a Charles and Diana. The only people to blame for that fiasco are The Queen Mother and Baroness Fermoy, the mother of Frances Shand Kydd, Diana’s maternal grandmother. The only upside to what those two ladies did was to allow William (and, to an extent, Harry) to be born.

In conclusion, Gary is right. Meghan was jealous of how easily Catherine made everything appear. Does the Princess of Wales make mistakes? Absolutely! She’s human but improves every time she does something she’s not good at. What’s more, is that she can laugh at herself. Meghan sees herself as the perfect woman. But she sees every mistake she makes as a slight.
