When you think of blogging you generally consider them dead entities that went out of style a decade or more ago. Sure, it’s not always glamourous, especially when it comes to entertainment and celebrity gossip, but that’s just life. In 2018, I rebranded cjhawkings.com as Project Fangirl and as they say, the rest is history. It has been really slow progress getting it to where it is today, but the struggle and backbreaking long hours have made it totally worth it. My site might not be like perezhilton.com, and may not make me thousands of dollars a month, but it’s given me a leg up into what it means to run a website.
It is not always glamourous. There is an ugly side if you piss off enough people who may or may not agree with you. I’ve seen this while covering Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s very royal tantrums. Never in my entire life have I ever seen a fanbase be so vile as the Sussex Squad. It makes me sick to even type this. They have targeted people by doxing them and getting them banned from Twitter. Not only is this wrong, it shows how taken they are with the woke side of society.
Having a voice doesn’t mean tearing anyone who doesn’t agree with your ideals down. You agree to disagree. That is how life works but the Sussex Squad doesn’t appear to understand that. Nor do the other people who don’t want others to have an opinion on anything.
As we venture through life, we learn how to deal with our mistakes and how to improve. It is what makes us human and it doesn’t always have to be glamourous. This column, as I said, was never about showing the pretty things. It was built to cater to the truth.
