Life And Times Of A Blogger: In The Middle Of A Pandemic

2020 was a horrid year for everyone. As we jumped into the new decade, no one could’ve expected a worldwide pandemic to take hold. For months, everything seemed uncertain, but there was a light at the end of the tunnel. As the world has come to realise, there is good and there is bad. Look at the #toiletpapergate scandal that has ramped up and down. Who needs that MUCH loo paper? Makes me wish that I was elsewhere right now where the pandemic has been slowed down. If there was one thing I learned last year, it’s that people are greedy and don’t think clearly when they believe the pandemic is going to ruin them.

When it comes to blogging, I’ve noticed our stats go up quite a bit. However, I would love to see them increase more. With the pandemic in the news every day, people need something to distract themselves from the bleak negativity. When I started Project Fangirl I wanted to give a woman’s perspective on entertainment news. What the blog has evolved into since 2018 has just blown my mind. We’re now covering true crime which is a favourite subject for me, skincare, real-life situations like the 19-20 bushfire season, the royal families of the world and it’s not stopping there.

I’ve been looking at expanding to so many social issues that I believe everyone will find inspiring. I know my audience wants me to stick to my usual content but things change as my stats are flailing under what they were months ago. I’ve been trying new types of topics to see what people would be interested in seeing. I know it’s a big chance but in a pandemic, topics expand to adapt.

To end this post, I created a poll on Twitter to see what content you guys would like to see.
