Thomas Doesn’t Seem To Understand That Douglas Moving In With Steffy Was Of His Making

The custody battle between Thomas and Hope might be over for now, but that has not stopped the designer from going to his sister Steffy’s house and demanding time with Douglas. Sorry, but Finn’s right. He doesn’t get to decide when he can and cannot see his son when he’s in someone else’s care. Surprise visits don’t cut it anymore.

Steffy promised Hope she would protect Douglas, and she intends to keep to it, even if she has to block Thomas. She mentions in today’s episode that she and their parents had hoped he was better. After all, they kept defending him to everyone, only to find out later that he had been scheming up a storm.

The Custody Arrangement Is Not What Thomas Expected

We have great respect for Steffy for actually doing what she promised. If this storyline had been done a couple of years ago, she would’ve stabbed Hope in the back and handed her nephew over to his father. It’s nice to see that Finn has positively influenced her. Even the doctor can see how messed up Thomas is.

Finn has come to love Douglas like his own nephew and knows all about the drama Thomas has dragged him into. From the Beth switch to the disaster at the aborted Taylor/Ridge wedding, the whole thing is messed up, and even Finn can see it. Thank god Li and Jack raised him with a sense of right and wrong.

While Finn doesn’t necessarily like having full-time custody of Douglas, he accepts that the boy is family. He was reluctant to take the kid on because he did not want to get involved in any drama revolving around Thomas and Hope.

Steffy Gets Thomas’s Desire, But He Cannot be Trusted.

Steffy understands that Thomas wants to redeem himself, but she knows he has said that before. Yet, almost immediately after vowing to change, he starts scheming again. It’s a neverending cycle, and Steffy knows it. Thomas assumed that because he and his sister were close, he could walk into her house and get instant access to his son. He thought his sister having custody would be good, and he told his grandfather that very thing. However, he didn’t expect the metaphorical door to be slammed in his face.

What is he going to do now? Steffy bought up at the end of today’s episode that Thomas has always been jealous of her. She was allowed to be co-CEO of Forrester Creations with Ridge, despite Thomas being older and “the heir.” Also, she is relatively more well-behaved than her brother. Yes, she’s gone after other women’s men, but she has changed herself since becoming a mother. Thomas? Not so much.
