Who Is Sabine Wren In Star Wars?

Sabine, Star Wars

Sabine Wren is a young Mandalorian introduced in 2014 during Star Wars Rebels. She was a main character with ties to the Empire and came from a Mandalorian family who turned to the Imperial regime. Sabine was the artist and explosive expert of the Ghost crew who later found and later burnished the darksaber before she handed it to Bo-Katan Kryze. Later in 2023, Sabine will appear in the Ahsoka series as a critical player in the story.

Later, Sabine and Ahsoka Tano search for their lost friend, Ezra Bridger. This is after he disappeared into the Unknown Regions with Grand Admiral Thrawn. In this post, we will discuss who Sabine was and her history before she joined the Ghost crew. Please take a look at the link above for her past. This includes her time in Star Wars Rebels.

The Early Life Of Sabine Wren Before Star Wars Rebels

Born on Mandalore during the second of the Clone Wars, Sabine is the daughter and eldest child of Countess Ursa Wren and her husband, Alrich. Sabine has a younger brother, Tristan. Clan Wren considered Krownest their home. The family was also part of House Vizsla.

Ursa was a member of Death Watch. Alrich, however, wasn’t a warrior but an artist. So Sabine inherited both her parents’ skills. She also inherited her Nite Owls helmet from someone she didn’t want to reveal.

Imperial Sympathiser

While her mother was against the pacifist regime of Mandalore, hence Ursa’s involvement in Death Watch, Sabine would eventually join the Imperial academy on Mandalore. She could also create a dangerous weapon known as The Duchess, a possible nod to Duchess Satine Kryze, the pacifist leader of the planet who Darth Maul killed.

Upon her weapon being used for nefarious means, Sabine leaves the academy and becomes a bounty hunter with her friend Ketsu Onyo, who later betrays her and leaves her for dead.

Rebellion Calling

Sabine’s actions would ruin her relationship with her mother, who she would not see for years. Also, everything she did would cost Clan Wren their reputation. Upon disowning herself from her family, Sabine would join former Jedi Padawan Kanan Jarrus (formerly Caleb Dume), pilot Hera Syndulla, Lasast Zeb Orrelios, and cranky astromech droid, Chopper, becoming Spectre-5.
