5 Of The Funniest, Most Rewatchable Scenes In Star Wars

funniest

There is so much more to Star Wars than lightsaber duels and dog fights in space – If you’ve been following this site for a while, you’ll know how much we love Star Wars. We’ve been trying to expand on our category and thought we’d do something fun as we get closer to the release of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Now, just an FYI. This post is not associated with the show in any way. It was really hard to choose to pick just five of the funniest moments from the films and the shows.

If this post gets enough interest, we’ll do a part two as there are so many more we could include. Before we jump into our first point, these are in no particular order.

1. “Die Jedi Dogs!” (Attack Of The Clones)

Attack of the Clones is memorable for a lot of reasons. It is also our least favourite Star Wars film due to the corny romance scenes. However, one of the funniest moments in the movie happens during the opening battle of the Clone Wars, the First Battle of Geonosis.

In a scene prior, C-3PO’s head had been knocked off his body in the droid factory and attached to a battle droid’s body. When the droids are programmed to go out into the arena, the battle droid’s programming suddenly kicks in, and 3PO screams, “Die Jedi dogs!” before coming to his senses. He is then pushed over by our boy, Kit Fisto.

2. “That’s Not How The Force Works!” (The Force Awakens)

In one of the funniest moments in The Force Awakens, escaped Stormtrooper Finn becomes desperate to get his friend Rey back from the First Order after Kylo Ren kidnaps her on Takodana. Teaming up with Han and Chewbacca, the trio attempt to get onto the base where she’s being held.

Out of curiosity, Han asks Finn what his job is on the base, and he says, “Sanitation.”

This irks Han, who questions how he [Finn] knows how to lower the shields. Finn admits he doesn’t and is just there to get Rey back and that they’ll use the Force to do it. Annoyed even further, Han says, “That’s not how the Force works!” Chewbacca then complains he’s cold, which further irritates Han.

3. “You Told Me To Put Him Down!” (The Clone Wars Movie)

So, we couldn’t find the scene on YouTube, so we’ve had to settle for a still from the movie. Anyway, in one of the funniest moments from The Clone Wars movie, when Anakin instructs Ahsoka to put Rotta, Jabba’s son down, they momentarily become distracted. When Anakin turns back to check on the Huttlet, he’s no one to be found. Asking where he is, a panicked Ahsoka tells Anakin that he told her to put the baby down.

Anakin orders her to find him only for them, to hear Rotta a moment later, trying to crawl away from them.

4. “Hey, Baby! Do The Music Hand Thing!” (The Mandalorian S01E08)

When Mando and his allies are under siege, Greef Karga suggests that the baby (whose name isn’t known at this point) do the “magic hand thing.” Turning to him, Karga says, “Hey, baby! Do the magic hand thing!” He then waves at him, showing him what he wants him to do. Grogu smiles at him and waves back, but not in the way Karga wants.

This earns Karga a look of “What are you on about?” from Cara Dune.

5. “What Does That Mean?” (Star Wars Rebels S01E11)

In the Star Wars Rebels episode, Idiot’s Array, Lando manages to become disliked by Kanan, Ezra, and Zeb. Hera isn’t impressed by him either and doesn’t buy into his smooth-talking smuggler game. Sabine and Chopper, however, enjoy the attention they’re given.

When Lando starts complimenting Sabine’s work, it annoys Ezra, who says he told Sabine that her work was great “weeks ago.” Sabine says he didn’t know what her work meant. Lando “comforts” her and says Ezra is just a child with limited experience in the galaxy. He then uses a big word to push his flirtations with Sabine further. Ezra proceeds to cut him off before he can explain what the word means. After he’s left the room, Ezra turns to Zeb and asks what Lando’s words actually meant. Zeb then comments that it means a lot less than Lando thinks it does.
