Is there a character that David Tennant cannot play? From the tenth doctor in Doctor Who to Barty Crouch Junior in Harry Potter, he has also made himself known for his role in Star Wars, where he played Huyang, an architect droid that helps Jedi younglings construct their lightsabers. There’s not a lot of information on him, despite mentions and appearances in several forms of Star Wars media, including books and comics.
His first appearance was in The Clone Wars episode, A Test of Strength, before he went on to appear in two other episodes, Bound for Rescue and A Necessary Bond. Huyang is referenced in the Ahsoka novel, High Republic books, and comics.
Huyang Is Super Old – Older Than Master Yoda
The droid is over 25,000 years old by the time the Ahsoka series begins, and he taught some of the Jedi’s most recognisable knights, including Mace Windu and Master Yoda himself. He has become Ahsoka’s constant companion and her answer to C-3PO, R2-D2 and Chopper. The droid has also become a voice of reason for those around him, such as his mistress and Sabine Wren.
Moreover, Huyang doesn’t sugarcoat anything. This is apparent while he is speaking with Sabine Wren about her potential Force sensitivity and her mods on Ezra Bridger’s lightsaber.
Huyang had many adventures and had plenty of stories to tell. He, Ahsoka and a group of younglings were held hostage by Hondo Ohnaka during the last years of the Jedi Order. It is unknown what happened to him before he appeared in Ahsoka.
Finally, the coolest thing about Huyand is his multiple arms.
