What Happened To Korkie Kryze?

Korkie

The status of Bo-Katan and Satine’s nephew is questionable right now – It has long been theorised that Korkie Kryze is the son of the Duchess of Mandalore, Satine Kryze and Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, rather than the nephew of Mandalore’s leader. However, this was debunked by Star Wars Explained’s Alex Damon a year ago. Anyway, we’re not to discuss who his parents are. Instead, we wanted to discuss what happened to Korkie after his last appearance during The Clone Wars.

During Bo-Katan‘s live-action debut episode, Chapter 11: The Heiress of The Mandalorian, she says she could be the last of her line, meaning her family. Fans of TCW will know that Satine died during the war in Obi-Wan’s arms. However, the fate of Korkie has NOT been established.

From a behind-the-scenes perspective, Korkie appeared in two Clone Wars episodes. Bo-Katan appeared in 9 as well as an episode of Rebels. Finally, Satine shows up in 11 episodes of The Clone Wars. While this might not mean much to some, it could mean that Korkie’s fate is still not planned.

Also, it could be possible that Bo-Katan had not seen or heard from her nephew in years. This could explain why she says she is the last of her family line. Hopefully, we’ll get an explanation for this, but we’re not holding our breath. They haven’t told us what Barriss’ fate was after she framed Ahsoka for terrorism, and it’s been over a decade since that story happened.

Accept it

Some things in Star Wars are just meant to be left a mystery. Yoda’s home planet and species are a perfect example of this. We’re not here to discuss our favourite little green man. But, whatever Korkie’s fate is, we welcome it as it would put to bed all the theories there have been since Bo-Katan uttered those words.
