Ahh! I’m so excited!
Earlier I was browsing through my WordPress stats when I found a link under the Referrers section. The blog has gotten a lot of bot-like referrer links as of late but I was curious and clicked the one that had FeedSpot in the link. Surprisingly, it took me to a Top 20 list of Hollywood Blogs. I just assumed it was an actual a list of the Top 20. As I scrolled down, I suspected to find my blog at number 20. However, it wasn’t.
The FeedSpot list was actually a list of the Top 25 rather than the Top 20. We were listed as 23rd! Want proof? Here’s the screenshot I took!
I couldn’t believe it! The list was updated earlier today so someone must be looking down at me. While it might not mean anything to most people, it means a lot to me. I have tried for so long to make the blog as best as it can be. I know half the articles I’ve written aren’t spell checked, but I do doing everything in my power to make it the best Entertainment blog out there. What surprised me was that Project Fangirl is the only Australian Entertainment blog on the list.
We still have a long way to go. As much as I would love for it to beat the likes of Perez Hilton and TMZ, I don’t expect it to go that far. Why? Well, as nice as it is to have followers, it means I only have to work harder to get to the top. I became a journalist to inspire people with the truth. It was never about the views or the subscribers. If I wanted to write tabloid trash, I would have. I would also have used the gutter trash that is gossip sites and magazines as sources.
Unlike the trash who write stuff that isn’t true about the media, I actually have a code. I feel like a doctor saying this but I don’t intend to be sued. My goal is simple; I want people read my content and know every single bit of information is true.
As a journalist, I just wanted to thank everyone who has followed me on this journey so far. I hope there’s many more lists to come.
