It’s been a rough week for Stargirl fans with the news of the show’s cancellation. At the same time, it is disheartening that our beloved show has been axed. There are some factors that we still don’t know yet. We’ll cover it in a different post, but we want to encourage fans to keep tuning in until the end. We also encourage everyone reading this to join the #SaveStargirl campaign. There is a tiny chance that another network or a streaming service may pick it up. Although it might be slim, we’re willing to take the risk. So, anyway, getting away from the sadness we’re all feeling right now, we have to go over this week’s episode where Lily and Sofus Mahkent take centre stage. Also, we apologise for not getting a post up last week. Before we jump in, check out Lynne Ashe’s interview with Stargirl Wiki.

So, it was a HUGE episode for Cameron and the JSA. Beth learns a few new things about her suit thanks to her parents, and she accepts Courtney’s apology for choosing Cameron over the team.

Yolanda and Courtney are back to being friends, and Ms Montez also backs Court’s decision to tell her boyfriend everything.

The Icehour Fight And Sofus Down

Rick, however, is beginning to feel the effects of the hourglass. He doesn’t like the idea of Cameron knowing about anything regarding the team, but he’s willing to back the decision because the girls are his family. Also, he wants to be the first to tell Courtney, “I told you so” when things go south with Cameron. More on that later.

Jumping back to the Mahkents, Lily is on the warpath the entire episode. She is pissed off when she walks into Cameron’s room and finds he has been drawing Courtney. What’s more, she has multiple disagreements with Sofus. One is when Mister Deisinger shows up to talk about Cameron quitting art class only for her to kill him.

It’s clear that despite his annoyance, Sofus is not pleased with his wife, as Deisinger cared about their grandson. Also, he is the one who stops Cameron from killing Rick after Hourman is thrown into the stairs. But unfortunately, this is before Sofus suffers a heart attack and has to be revived by Beth with the help of her mother.

Lily Goes Full Palpatine, And Cameron Learns About Some Of The JSA

One of the freakiest parts of the episode is when Cameron and Rick are literally at each other’s throats, and Lily is going full Palpatine on her grandson. She wants him to give in to the same hate his father possessed. This is when Sofus hurries in from his fight with Beth and tells Cameron not to give in to the hatred the way Jordan had.

Also, a small note and a massive thank you to Shawn and Sarah on the Stargirl Aftershow Podcast for pointing this out, if Jordan had touched Rick, he would be dead instantly. Look at what happened with William Zarick back in Season 1. He died within seconds. However, Cameron only manages to ice over Rick’s arm, which doesn’t do that much damage if the promo for next week is anything to go by. Also, the kid has some serious moves in combat.

Cameron and Rick’s Fight Is A Little Confusing

There also seemed to be some confusion during the boys’ fight as they were both trying to protect Courtney from each other. Moreover, when Rick bursts through the wall, Courtney tells Cameron it’s Rick. However, she doesn’t mention Beth and Yolanda when Sofus has a heart attack, as there isn’t time for pleasantries. This will likely be addressed next episode.

Speaking of the next episode, Lily screams at Cameron that the JSA were the ones who killed his father. Cameron and Courtney look at each other as they silently have a conversation which means Courtney is going to have to explain everything she didn’t get a chance to do in this episode. Thanks, Rick, for ruining everything.

Is Camney In Trouble?

Could there be a break-up between Camney next episode? We don’t know, and hopefully not, as they wouldn’t give it to us and then rip it away. Also, it would be a massive downer, given the series’ cancellation. Moving away from the bad news, what was surprising was Cameron’s reaction when Rick burst into the house. He was shocked, yet he didn’t have time to react to Courtney telling him it was her friend.

Finally, Cameron would be intelligent if he listened to what Courtney told him before concluding. Given that before Rick ruined everything, Courtney was attempting to tell Cameron about the type of person his father was, and Lily is to blame, too, as she was eavesdropping.
