Rose Hanbury was a friend of Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge but did she have a hand in the cheating rumour involving Kate’s husband, Prince William?
A while ago we spoke about whatever happened with that cheating rumour involving Prince William and Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley. We also did a piece on whether Meghan Markle had anything to do with the speculation. Now, we wanted to explore another angle of this sad bit of untrue gossip. During a conversation with our new Twitter friend and American royal expert and entertainment reporter, Kinsey Schofield, she told us about her thoughts on the so-called scandal that didn’t rock the Cambridge marriage.
Now, before we go on, we need to stress that this is just Kinsey’s THEORY that she has given her permission for us to talk about. She doesn’t think William would EVER cheat on his wife, especially after what he experienced with his parents’ doomed-from-the-start marriage.
Theory Time!
Kinsey’s theory is that the cheating rumour has nothing to do with Meghan and all to with Rose Hanbury, the woman at the centre of the rumour.
Now, she points a couple of things out in her theory.
The first is that Rose is much younger than her husband who is David Cholmondeley, 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley. She’s in her mid-30s as they were married in 2009 when she was 25-years-old. He is in his 60s. William is two years older than the Marchioness.
Kinsey’s second point is that it is believed that Rose was unhappy in her marriage. Now, we don’t actually know if this is true.
If Rose is in fact, unhappy, then why doesn’t she divorce her husband or go to counselling? Why start a rumour that she got involved with William?
It is Kinsey’s belief that Rose has implied that her friendship with the Duke of Cambridge is much deeper than the public realises. Could this mean she has a crush on him and fantasises about him? Possibly.
Why Start A Rumour?
If Rose wants to make her friendship with William to be more, then why start the rumour? Kinsey believes Hanbury wanted attention by saying that she’d hooked up with the future King of England.
