What We Know So Far About Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Pike

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will reunite us with Pike, Spock, and Number One. For the moment, we don’t know whether this will continue the continuity from Discovery, but we assume it will given the characters and the actors. Grab your bags of popcorn because we’re about to dive into places we have not been before.

Pike, Spock, And Number One: Will They Speak Of Discovery’s Disappearance?

Given Pike, Spock and Number One’s appearances, this brings us to the question of whether they will mention Discovery’s disappearance. Given the new uniforms, which are an upgrade from the Enterprise uniforms from Discovery, it appears some time will have passed. How much is unclear, but it’s also a time jump is made obvious by Spock’s new haircut, which is really Ethan Peck’s hair, according to TrekCulture on YouTube.

What makes the Discovery connection even more unclear is the new members of the crew, such as Uhura, who will be a cadet (like Sylvia Tilly at the beginning of Discovery). It is unlikely she was aboard Enterprise during the crew’s interactions with Discovery. Also, the Enterprise crew swore themselves to silence and lied under oath about what truly happened.

New And Old Arrivals

Star Trek Day gave us a look at the new cast outside of Mount (Pike), Peck (Spock), and Romijn (Number One). According to Strange New Worlds’ Wikipedia page, the cast includes:

  • Babs Olusanmokun as Doctor M’Benga
  • Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura
  • Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh – a likely relative of Khan
  • Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel
  • Melissa Navia – Erica Ortegas
  • Bruce Horak – Hemmer

New Look Uniforms

As we mentioned earlier, the Enterprise crew will have fresh new uniforms. Here’s your first look:

Episode Numbers, Release Date, And Synopsis

It’s unclear how many episodes there are for Season 1, but the Strange New Worlds page on the Memory Alpha Fandom says there are at least ten episodes. The release date is not known either but is believed to begin in March 2022.

There is no synopsis as of the writing on this post. There is not even a trailer.
