It’s no secret that Omid Scobie and Meghan Markle have some friendship, regardless if how they try to hide it. That’s what we’re going to be discussing here. Now, we’ve covered some of this before. However, this is going a little further back to before Prince Harry ever became involved with as Beebs Kelly like say, The Megs.
We’re going to jump back to 2015. It’s Toronto Fashion Week, and Omid Scobie is writing for the tabloid US Weekly. According to an article by The Australian, he met Meghan Markle at the event. A year later, she would start dating Prince Harry.
However, Omid Scobie and Meghan Markle have a mutual friendship with many people, and one of those people is Lainey Lui, the woman behind Lainey Gossip, as seen in this screenshot from 2014 on Twitter via Reddit. But back in 2015, it is clear that the devious pair [Scobie and Markle] kept in touch. They both denied working on Finding Freedom together. That is, until it came out in court that they had collaborated as per Vanity Fair.
Is Omid Scobie possibly having a back-row seat of Meghan snagging Prince Harry? Yes, quite possibly. Given that the former gossip reporter and the washed-up cable actress have friends in common, it is not outside the realm of possibility that his sources are Markle herself and people like Lainey Lui.
Another thing that we wanted to point out is that Omid reported on Catherine, the Princess of Wales’ cancelled trip to Malta in 2017 due to her pregnancy with Prince Louis giving her bad morning sickness for US Weekly. He also reported on her bad morning sickness with Prince George in 2012 for the same publication. Even back then, he had no respect for William or Catherine. At the time, the Princess of Wales was the Duchess of Cambridge, yet, he refers to her as either ‘Kate Middleton’ or ‘Princess Kate’. However, he respects Meghan by referring to her as ‘Duchess Meghan’ or ‘Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.’ So much for not being ‘Meghan’s pal’.
