Meghan Markle has no right to be involved in the Invictus Games. Sure, it was cute when she and Harry got together (see our feature image), where she played the role of the supportive girlfriend. Looking back on it, it was her way of announcing to the world, “I just snagged the biggest royal dunderhead behind Edward VIII!”
An article still published on the Invictus website says that The Invictus Games were started in 2014 at the behest of Princes Harry, William, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge and the Royal Foundation. Now, Harry will have you believe that he alone started the event, but that’s not what we’re talking about in this post.
Anyway, the reason why I am bringing this up is because I keep seeing articles about it. As I have stated before, Meghan is a disgrace to the Invictus Games. She makes the whole event about her and she has no compassion whatsoever for the competitors and their families.
Since Meghan has started playing a role in the Invictus Games as Harry’s “devoted wife” who buys milkshakes for their two little tikes under 5, she has become an annoyance. Why? She has taken over the event. She does more speeches at the event than her husband and allegedly uses the Invictus Games funds to buy expensive, ill-fitting clothing to cosplay Princess Diana.
Meghan has no experience in the armed forces. Going on a USO Tour doesn’t count. She has never seen a battlefield or had limbs blown off and has never suffered from PTSD. These are all experiences many soldiers have endured. I am willing to bet that she would faint at the sight of horrific injuries.
Also, she will probably claim behind closed doors, “Oh, I was an army wife, so I understand your struggle.” She didn’t know Harry during this time in the army. However, I’m just speculating, but having read enough about her, it would not be surprising. If she does do this, it would be almost as bad as her coming up with ‘pwife’, an acronym for ‘polo wife.’ It has nothing on WAG (wives and girlfriends).
Meghan should stay the hell out of the Invictus Games. She can say she has compassion all she likes, but she is only there to headline the event that she barely understands. Hell, if she supported it, she would wear Invictus Game merch. She did when she first entered the royal sphere, but she stopped once she got out and pulled Harry with her.
Why Harry doesn’t put his foot down and tell her to back off and stop spending the charity’s money is beyond me. Yet, he is spending the cash too on luxury hotels, transport and, of course, security like he’s the President of the United States.
Here’s the thing. Harry appears to think that because his father is the King of England he is equally as important as him and his brother. That is odd because this is the same issue that Prince Andrew allegedly had. There is a rumour from years ago that when Diana died and Charles’ reputation was in the toilet, Andrew wanted to be William’s regent. Yes, you read that right. People wanted Charles skipped over and William placed as the heir when he was a 15-year-old kid at the time. Given Harry was (obviously) too young as he was 12, the only person over 21 who could become a regent if the need came to it, was Andrew. Princess Anne was disqualified due to the line of succession at the time and Prince Edward was too far down the line of succession.
Andrew has always been spoilt and entitled, so it is no wonder he thought this. With Harry, it is essentially the same thing – a spare who wants power. It sounds very Lion King. Harry even “joked” at that premiere that he wouldn’t want to be Scar if he were ever cast. Interesting, right when he tried to parent his niece and nephews, and William told him to butt out.
I’ve said this before, but William would never pull the same stunt Harry tried to pull with Archie and Lilibet. Ever. If William had attempted this, it would be all over the news. Yet, when Harry has his ghostwriter add it to Spare, no one batters an eyelash. Why? It feels almost like he’s being praised without anyone saying anything about it.
So, it’s okay for Harry to try to parent George and Louis but not okay for William to do the same with Archie and Lilibet? Hmm. This is what I would call hypocrisy. As I said, William would never dictate parenting to Harry. However, I imagine Harry making up some story to drag his brother’s good name through the mud. Any sane person would never believe that.
Anyway, we got off-topic for a moment. Let’s go back to Meghan and the Invictus Games, shall we? She must stop walking out on that stage and claiming she understands the people involved because she doesn’t. She has never experienced true trauma or struggles. Even before she met Harry, Meghan was one of the most privileged women on the face of the Earth.
Meghan forgets that her dad provided for her and allowed her to pursue her dreams. He did everything for her. Then, when she married for the first time, her then-husband, Trevor Engelson, provided for her. When she dumped him by mailing her rings back via FedEx, she crawled back to her parents and proclaimed, according to Tom Bower, that Trevor “was mean to her.”
Sorry, I don’t believe that Meghan cares about Invictus. She only uses it as a platform to show the public that she is a loving person when she cannot give a damn. Also, does she not realise when she wears short shorts and other outfits that cost a fortune, that it is offensive to the veterans who have lost their limbs and have to live on fixed salary who cannot afford the same luxuries she can.
Also, what gives her the right to march in front of the soldiers? She was never a soldier. She is a woman who loves the limelight and only cares about promoting herself. I can only imagine that she whinged to Harry about being shut out of the planning of the Invictus Games. To placate her, gave in like he always does so she could have a role bigger than what she should have.
Finally, Meghan believes she should be the centre of attention regardless of where she goes. It does not matter if it is Harry’s or someone else’s event. She has to make it a massive song and dance where she is front and centre. That is why she dropped American Riviera Orchard’s Instagram and website at the same time as the Diana Awards. She not only upstaged Prince William, she upstaged Harry too. Whether he knew about this, is unknown, but who cares.
Harry, as far as I am concerned, is just as bad as his wife. They’re a match made in hell.
