There are only a few weeks to go until the biggest DCTV event ever to air debuts on The CW! Crisis on Infinite Earths will begin on Supergirl for its first hour. So let’s go over the recently released photos!
Crisis on Infinite Earths is coming and there’s no stopping it! The first stills from hour one of the event; the Supergirl hour! We’re going to go over the photos recently released for the episode. The photos are coming from Comic Book. Be sure to also check out the memorable moments from Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash and Batwoman. We also have some random thoughts for the crossover.
First Hour – Behind The Scenes
The first photo we’re covering is a behind-the-scenes image of most of the actors involved with the episode. From what this episode shows, we have:
- Melissa Benoist (Kara Zor-El/Kara Danvers/Supergirl)
- Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom)
- Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen/Green Arrow)
- Chyler Leigh (Alex Danvers)
- Grant Gustin (Barry Allen/The Flash)
- Jesse Rath (Querl Dox/Brainiac 5 “Brainy”)
- David Harewood (J’onn J’onzz/Martian Manhunter)
- Tyler Hoechlin (Kal-El/Clark Kent/Superman)
- Elizabeth Tulloch (Lois Lane)
- Caity Lotz (Sara Lance/White Canary)
- Ruby Rose (Kate Kane/Batwoman)
- Katherine McNamara (Mia Smoak/Black Star/future Green Arrow)
- Audrey Marie Anderson (Lyla Michaels/Harbinger)
Alex And Lena’s Worry
The first still from the Supergirl first hour we have is of Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Lena (Katie McGrath). Now, we don’t know how much of a role either character has in the other parts of the event. This is also the first time Lena has ever appeared in a crossover though McGrath has been credited in the other crossovers since she became a regular.
Alex and Lena appear worried, but if we had to guess, they’ve probably picked up on the anti-matter wave.
Team Super Meets Batwoman
This next image is fascinating because we didn’t think we’d see Kate Kane’s Batwoman (Ruby Rose) on Earth-38 at all. What makes it interesting is we’re seeing Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) and Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) for the first time since the end of last year’s Elseworlds crossover. It’s also the first time Alex and Kate have met so be on the look out for some awkward moments.
We’ll talk more about Lois and Clark later but from what we can make out, this takes place after Lyla recruits Kate back on Earth-1. It’ll also be the first time Kate has met Lois and Clark.
Batwoman Visiting Her Cousin?
We’re not sure what’s going on here with Kate but it could have something to do a short clip in the short teasers that were cobbled together to make a larger trailer. In one of them, Kate and Sara (Caity Lotz) are heading towards a building that could be owned by a version of Bruce Wayne (Kevin Conroy). It’s currently uncertain if this Bruce is from Earth-1 as in Kate’s cousin. From stuff Pagey said in his trailer breakdown video, this could a future version of Bruce. We know from the way Kate talks in Batwoman that her cousin is much older than her and her sister, Beth (Rachel Skarsten).
According to Pagey, Conroy has mentioned that he had a scene with Ruby Rose where they’re have a long conversation. Fingers crossed this is Kate’s Bruce.
Epicentre With Kate, Clark and Ray
Since this image takes place on Earth-38, it appears that something has gone down and buildings have come down. This could be when our heroes meet the Anti-Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) for the first time. We can just see some funny banter between Kate, Clark, Ray during a moment like this. We can’t wait for it if it does happen.
Alex And Kara
What’s happening this image is anyone’s guess. Though, it could be Alex and Kara’s reaction to Kate as this looks like its from the same scene as the ‘Team Super meets Batwoman’ image earlier in the piece. It might even be the Danvers sisters’s reactions to Lyla showing up to warn them of Crisis.
Super Conversations
This image appears to be a wide shot of the ‘Team Super meets Batwoman’ photo. However, this time we’re seeing Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson), Oliver (Stephen Amell), and Mia (Katherine McNamara) too. This could be the moment Lyla brings Oliver and Mia to Earth-38 to explain the situation to Supergirl and her friends. We could also see an argument beginning to brew here as it may be revealed that Oliver knew Crisis was coming and didn’t say anything.
Harbinger Recruits Barry, Sara and Ray?
Now this is a sight we never thought we’d see. The Flash, Harbinger, White Canary, and the Atom together in one scene. This could be part of a scene where the Monitor (also LaMonica Garrett) shows up to warn the group about his brother.
Why Is Oliver Wearing His Mask?
Uh, why is Oliver wearing a mask? Everyone knows Oliver is the Green Arrow! Whatever this shot is a part of of, it cannot be good. Perhaps, this has something to do with the Anti-Monitor? The Monitor knows who Oliver is so there’s no need for the archer to hide his identity from him. Moreover, the most feasible explanation is the Anti-Monitor or this could be a vision of the past. Knowing our predictions, we’re probably very wrong.
Father and Daughter
Considering this is Mia’s first time in a crossover, it’s difficult to predict what her role will be. Also, where’s William during all of this? Wouldn’t he want to help their dad and his sister out? What about Connor (Joseph David-Jones) and wouldn’t he want to know why his adoptive mother [Lyla] is helping the Monitor? This could also serve as a reaction shot to something else that is going on.
Welcome To The Arrowverse, Super Baby!
During last year’s Elseworlds event, we learned in the last seconds of the Supergirl hour that Lois was pregnant. Lois and Clark explained to Kara that their child was conceived on Argo and that they’d have to spend the duration of the pregnancy there due to the child being half-Kryptonian. Clark also popped the question to his baby mama too. What’s interesting about the reveal was it was timed with Elizabeth Tulloch’s real-life pregnancy with her daughter.
As for the image, this could take place at the very beginning of the first hour. As it will likely set up Lois and Clark’s roles across the five episodes. Pagey also mentioned that Lois has a fairly large role this time as her screen time last year was limited to The Flash and the Supergirl episodes. It’s also confirmed in this image that Clark and Lois did get married sometime either before or after their baby’s birth. Also, welcome to the Arrowverse, Jonathan “Jon” Kent!
The Atom and Batwoman
Ray Palmer as always been a funny guy. Kate Kane is the polar opposite and similar to her cousin. So, what happens when you put the Atom and Batwoman in a scene together? We’re not sure, but whatever happens, it’s going to be fun!
Supes And Flash
People are excited to see Superman and Flash working together again. This would have been an fanboy moment for actor Grant Gustin because he’s a huge Superman fan. What Clark and Barry could be looking at is unclear, but it cannot be good.
Destruction Of Earth-38?
Could this image hint that one of the main Earths we’re accustomed to will blow during the crossover? It looks like that could be the case and it appears that Supergirl’s home of Earth-38 will be a target for the anti-matter wave. Judging by this photo, the heroes put up one hell of a fight to save it. However, this Earth might not bit the dust as Jay Garrick’s map of the multiverse isn’t marked as being endangered.
Green Arrow V. Superman?
Woah! We never thought we’d want to see Oliver and Clark at each other’s throats! While we don’t know the actually context of this photo, we could have a Batman v Superman style conflict on our hands. Okay, well, Oliver’s mother’s name isn’t Martha but it is Moira. We doubt their mothers will be involved but it would be nice for them NOT to be at each other’s throats. It would be like the whole Dig-Oliver conflict all over again.
A Super, A Bat, And Lois
This shot shows Lois, Clark and Kate listening to what appears to be a conversation. Given the location, this the same gathering that includes Alex, Kara, Lyla, Oliver, and Mia.
Team DEO
Our final image is of Kara, Alex, and Brainy gearing up for battle! Woo! Alex and Brainy have both appeared in crossovers before but on a small capacity. This year we predict they’ll have a bigger role. We’re hoping anyway. We love them and seeing interacting with characters they don’t normally team up with is always exciting. We can’t wait to see what else we see in the first hour and how Supergirl’s Earth is impacted.
