Crown Princess Mary And Her Family To Spend Christmas In Australia

Mary

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark will spend Christmas in Australia, the Daily Mail reveals. The future Queen Consort of Denmark was spotted in Bondi alongside her husband, Crown Prince Frederik and their four children. This is the first time in since 2017 that the family as a whole has been Down Under. She was accompanied by Amber Petty, a longtime friend who served as a bridesmaid at the 2004 wedding in Denmark.

Prince Vincent was seen walking into a shop with his dad and reemerging with a paper bag. Princesses Isabella and Josephine were dressed as casually as their mother. It is unknown where Prince Christian was during this excursion. The Danish royal household announced earlier in the year that Mary and her family would spend this Christmas in her native Australia, where they will spend time with her father, John Dalgleish Donaldson and stepmother Susan Horwood and the extended Donaldson family in Tasmania.

Mary And The Family Are In Australia Privately

It has been made clear that the visit to Australia is a private trip, not an official one. Mary’s last trip to Australia officially as the Crown Princess of Denmark occurred in 2013. Since the 2004 wedding, she has returned to Australia nine times. Four visits were official, while five were private.

Mary took a private trip home for her fifty birthday in March 2021 without Frederik or the kids. Given all the upheaval in Denmark with Queen Margrethe II stripping Frederik’s younger brother Joachim’s children of their titles, it should be refreshing to get away from the tension.

Frederik has spoken about Joachim’s comment about the relationship between them and their wives, Mary and Marie, being “complicated.” However, Fred has said they are constantly communicating with each other, dispelling what was said previously. The Crown Prince and Princess’ children maintain their titles as they are direct heirs to the throne.
