9. OG Team Flash Share Their ‘Final’ Hug

One of the most touching moments is when Barry realises it’s time for him to vanish. Frost allows Caitlin to take control so she can say goodbye to her friend.

Barry tells his best friends that he still remembers when he awoke as the Flash. He continues saying he couldn’t be the hero he is now without them. He pulls them both in for what they all believe to be their final moment together as a family. As the hug ends, Barry asks them to tell Joe and Iris he loves them with Caitlin remarking they will. Both friends are visibly upset that they have to say goodbye to their best friend.

The moment comes to a halt when when 90-Flash stops Barry from getting on the treadmill by stealing his speed. When asked why he’s taking Barry’s speed, 90-Flash says the Monitor claimed ‘The Flash must die’ but he never stated which one.

Older Barry orders Cisco to open a breach so he can get back on the treadmill. Cisco refuses with the older Flash asking if he wants his friend to die. He continues saying that he wants to take Barry’s place so he doesn’t have to. A weakened Barry tells Cisco not to which leaves him conflicted, though he does what he is told by older Flash.

The moment sees 90-Flash go through the breach and back onto the treadmill where flashbacks from the 90s Flash series of 90-Flash with his wife, Tina.
