The Percy Jackson Guide Of Camp Half-Blood’s Best Campers (Excluding Annabeth!)

Camp Half-Blood

It would be biased to say that in Percy Jackson’s eyes, the best camper at Camp Half-Blood would be his girlfriend, Annabeth Chase. So, we thought, on his behalf, we would put together a guide of the best campers and don’t worry, we won’t pull a Percy and play favourites.

Let’s get started, shall we? P.S. We wish we could be pulled into the world of demigods. But, oh, wait… being hunted would be no fun.

Meet Percy’s Top Four Camp Half-Blood Campers

You cannot have Camp Half-Blood without the children of Hephaestus, Ares, and Hermes.

Meet Clarisse La Rue, a daughter of Ares. Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus. And, of course, Connor and Travis Stoll, sons of Hermes.

Clarisse La Rue, Daughter of Ares – One Of The More Vicious Camp Half-Blood Warriors

You do not want to cross Clarisse La Rue, a daughter of the War god, Ares. She’s dangerous and vengeful, so it’s best not to cross her.

Clarisse and Percy hated each other for a long time, but they allied. Percy saw a softer and gentler side to his on-off rival when Chris Rodriguez was driven mad during his time as a soldier serving Kronos.

However, Clarisse was fiercely loyal to her half-siblings. This is seen when the Ares and Apollo cabins were feuding over a golden chariot used during a quest before Percy arrived back at camp before the Battle of Manhattan.

When the cabin wasn’t given what they wanted, Clarisse refused to ally herself and her siblings with the cause to fight the Titans.

Despite her toughness, Clarisse is seen at times as being intimidated by her father, Ares. He forces her to compete with her immortal siblings, but she is never good enough to please him.

Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus

A son of Hephaestus, Leo Valdez, resides part-time at Camp Half-Blood. He is a flirt with a good heart and loves to joke. He is the only demigod child of Hephaestus who has pyrokinesis, the ability to wield fire.

He falls in love with Calypso, despite it not being love at first sight, as they start out despising each other. Unfortunately, he has a habit of falling for every lovely girl crossing his path. Leo takes it upon himself to be the class clown, but deep inside, he’s sensitive and doesn’t enjoy being left out or abandoned.

Due to the death of his mother, with whom he used to be close, he vowed never to use his power over fire again. However, when his siblings were in danger, he was forced to take it up again.

Leo is also a leader, as seen when he takes the position as the head counsellor of the Hephaestus cabin at Camp Half-Blood. Moreover, despite his love of pulling pranks and getting into mischief, Leo loves his friends and the people he calls family.

Connor And Travis Stoll, Sons Of Hermes

Ah, yes. Sons of Hermes. Travis and Connor Stoll are not identical twins, but they look so much alike that it doesn’t matter. It is also rare that a god returns to the same mortal twice and has a second child with them. There must have been something extraordinary about their mother for Hermes to have two sons with her.

Anyway, it is also almost unheard of for two demigod siblings to be born to the same set of parents, not to be twins. Thalia and Jason Grace don’t count as they a) aren’t twins, and b) Thalia is a Greek demigod born to Zeus, and Jason was born to Jupiter, Zeus’ Roman persona.

During Percy’s second summer at Camp Half-Blood, he mentions that the Stoll brothers were manning the Hermes cabin chariot. It tipped over.

Both brothers are relatively good fighters as they survived the Battle of Manhattan. They also didn’t see the problem regarding the fight between the Ares and Apollo cabins.

Afterwards, Travis goes to college and leaves Connor as the sole head counsellor of the Hermes cabin, a position they originally shared. It was Travis who told Percy that his mother and stepfather were alive.
