Why Catherine Is More Beloved Than Meghan Ever Will Be

beloved

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge is a beloved member of the royal family due to her ability to keep her head down and not complain…

Knowing your place in your family’s hierarchy is important. Especially, if your husband is to become King someday. For Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, she spent years keeping her head down and playing by the rules of the monarchy. She bore Prince William three children; Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. A large portion of the world that follows or knows of the British monarchy, sees her as a beloved member of Queen Elizabeth II’s family. However, the same cannot be said for her sister-in-law, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

Meghan has caused nothing but turmoil for the royals since she ‘fell’ into Prince Harry’s life in mid-2016. She has ripped him away and fled back to her homeland of America after just 18 months and over 70 engagements. Talk about piss poor. She cried to Tom Bradby, a journalist, and friend of Harry’s (and former pal of William) that no one asked how she was doing. Then, she and her husband went to Oprah to tell ‘their truth’ when their ‘biography’ by friend Omid Scobie and his co-writer, Carolyn Durand failed to put them back into people’s good books.

There are massive differences between the two royal wives and daughters-in-law of Prince Charles. We’re going to address these and explain why Catherine will always be more beloved than Meghan. Now, before we begin, we’re not here to bash the Duchess of Sussex. Far from it. We’re just stating facts so if you don’t like it, please don’t read ahead. Also, this is not a competition as to who the best duchess. While we’d love to give our opinion on that, that is not what this post is about.

Familial Ties

Catherine is a beloved member of the royal family, but she wouldn’t be the type of person she is today, without some help from her own family. She is super close to her parents, Michael and Carole as well as her two younger siblings; sister Pippa and brother James.

The Duchess of Cambridge is also the sister-in-law of James Matthews, Pippa’s husband and aunt to their two children, Arthur, and baby Grace. She is also the niece of Carole’s rather controversial brother, Gary Goldsmith, and Michael’s brothers, Richard, Nicholas, and Simon. Catherine is also the cousin of Adam Middleton who was a godfather to her daughter, Princess Charlotte as well as Anne and Lucy Middleton, and Tallulah Goldsmith.

Tiny fun fact: Catherine’s paternal grandfather, Peter Middleton flew alongside Prince Philip, Prince William’s late paternal grandfather during a two-month assignment in South Africa in 1962.

What’s so great about the Middletons is that they don’t see Prince William, Catherine’s husband as royalty. He is simply a member of the family. The Duke of Cambridge said himself that he sees Pippa’s children as his nephew and niece.

Going over to Meghan and familial ties is very different to Catherine’s.

She basically has no links to her family as she cut them all out of her life over the years. She only has contact with her mother, Doria. However, this has since been questioned. Meghan’s half-siblings are Samantha Markle and Thomas Markle Jr through their father, Thomas Snr.

Meghan has a variety of nephews and nieces through Samantha and Tom. Through her half-sister, she is aunt to Ashleigh Hale – who served as her go-to for legal lingo when she [Meghan] was on Suits – Christopher, and Noel whom Markle apparently has never met. Going over to Tom and he has two sons, Thomas and Tyler who both use their mother’s surname.

When Meghan married Prince Harry, the only member of her family at her wedding was Doria. The same applied to when she was married to Trevor Engelson.

Books

Catherine and Meghan have both released books. Well, one’s already out and the other is about to drop. The Duchess of Cambridge collaborated on a photography project with the National Portrait Gallery called Hold Still. They’ve put together a book of 100 photos that show the strength of the UK during 2020’s COVID lockdown. 100% of proceeds from the book go to charity.

Meghan, meanwhile, has written The Bench, a children’s book about father/son relationships based off a poem she allegedly wrote for Harry for his first father’s day. The project was announced the day before the Hold Still book was released. Now, the Sussexes have developed a pattern of trying to steal the limelight away from the royals who actually do great work.

However, this time, Meghan’s attempt to steal her sister-in-law’s thunder failed as her book has dropped drastically on the bestseller list. The Bench is in something thousands on Amazon in the UK. It’s so far down the list we can’t find it. Meanwhile, ‘Hold Still’ is currently number 1 in the Cultural Studies category on the same website.

Now, we can just see Meghan throwing a fit and screaming why people are enamoured with a book of ‘boring’ photos when they should be buying her book about a dad and his son. There’s the thing. She has no right to be writing something like this. First off, she ditched her father when he needed her the most. Then, she tore Harry away from his own father and turned him against his whole family. That is the whole reason why her book hasn’t been doing very well.

People are fed up with her harping about compassion and forgiveness when she isn’t doing what she’s preaches. It’s a simple case of, “Do as I say, not as I do.”

Beloved Equals Following The Rules

Now, we’ve written about how Meghan refused to play by the rules when she was a working royal. She thought that they did not apply to her and that she was modernising the family by not playing their rules. Sorry, but you cannot just marry a prince and think that you upend everything that his grandmother has held in place for almost 70 years.

Catherine, in the meantime, understands how the family operates and actually does follow the rules. On occasion, she’ll break the dress code as seen below:

Shoes

No Engagement Ring

Dresses

These are just a few examples of Catherine breaking the royal fashion rules. Now, she doesn’t do it too often. But, Meghan, on the other hand, has broken the same protocols more than occasional. While we’re not to go over Markle’s fashion faux pas, we’re not going to waste a second of space on this post going over things when Kate has done them too. But, we will go over some other rules Megsy has broken:

  • Not wearing a hat while out with the Queen.
  • Crossing legs in an un-ladylike fashion.
  • Walked in front of her royal husband.
  • Opening a car door in public.
  • Inserted herself into a conversation when she shouldn’t have.
  • Poked her tongue out at Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
  • When on the record to a massive magazine to say that she and Harry were ‘in love’.

Catherine is beloved by not just the royal family but the world because she doesn’t bring attention to herself when she’s out promoting causes she cares about. Instead, she chooses to put the spotlight on the event or cause that she championing. Meghan, however, is always talking about herself, rather than the charity or situation she is advocating for. Look at what happened with the Vax Live video she did. All she did was talk about herself, her unborn daughter, and women when she was supposed to encourage people to get the coronavirus vaccine.

Conclusion

It’s no secret that Catherine and Meghan are two very different women. They have their own sense of style and they come from two countries which are almost the opposite to each other. However, for the Duchess of Cambridge, keeping her head down and not going to the press every time something doesn’t go her way has been her saving grace. She loves her husband and his family have always held her in great esteem.

Meghan, however, is a whole different story. She thought that once she was officially a member of Harry’s family, she would be put on the same pedestal as Catherine. Sorry, but Kate had to EARN her place and she’s the one married to the future king. Megsy just cannot accept that she is a minor royal wife like the Duchess of Gloucester. Unlike William, Harry will NEVER be the monarch. He would only have a mental breakdown. Plus, didn’t he say that his brother and father were ‘trapped’ in their positions and couldn’t escape? We’ve spoken about this too! The only reason they both complain now is that they were told ‘no’ which is a foreign word in both their vocabularies.
