Tinkerbell is a more prominent character than her pal, Peter Pan. She might be a little fairy, but there have been not that many live-action iterations of her. There have been plenty of animated versions, though.
In this post, we wanted to explore the live-action iterations of Tinkerbell. We will be including both television and film. We will be including silent films, though we will be omitting iterations of the characters that are puppets and entirely CGI with no voice. Also, some of these are not Disney properties, while some are inspired by the Disney version.
Live-Action Tinkerbell

- Ludivine Sagnier – Peter Pan (2003) – Originally supposed to be entirely CGI
- Keira Knightley – Neverland (2011) – Miniseries
- Rose McIver – Once Upon a Time (season 3) – 2013
- Paloma Faith – Peter & Wendy (2015 ITV film)
- Yara Shahidi – Peter Pan and Wendy (2023)
The Role The Character Plays
Depending on the version of the character, Tinkerbell is often the sidekick of Peter Pan. In some versions, she has feelings for Peter, which he is oblivious to as he has feelings for Wendy Darling.
Tinkerbell is often jealous of Wendy because Peter spends much time paying attention to her instead. She also acts as a sort of conscience to Peter as the Cricket does to Pinocchio. If you’ve seen the animated Disney sequel, Return to Neverland, you’ll know that Tinkerbell almost dies when Wendy’s daughter, Jane, tries to act grown up and says she doesn’t believe in fairies, and Tink’s light almost goes out.
