There’s A New Australian Drama On The Way From The Creator Of A Place To Call Home – Between Two Worlds

Between Two Worlds

Get ready Australia there’s a new drama on its way from Bevan Lee called Between Two Worlds

It’s been a few years since A Place To Call Home wrapped up. Now, creator Bevan Lee has a new project about to drop. In Between Two Worlds, Sara Wiseman plays Sophia Grey, a widowed mother of two who ends up involved with a man who wants something she has. According to the show’s Screen Australia page: the synopsis is as follows:

An intense, high concept contemporary drama series about two disparate and disconnected worlds, thrown together by death and a sacrifice in one and the chance for new life in the other. Bold, daring, emotionally gripping, fast paced and unpredictable, BETWEEN TWO WORLDS will push the boundaries of popular commercial drama in Australia.

Another synopsis, this time from TV Tonight, states:

A mother. Proud, caring and strong. Her family is everything. An ordinary world.

A billionaire. He thinks he has everything. Money, power and control. An extraordinary world.

Two Families. Two worlds. They will collide. What does she have that he wants?

From the creator of A Place to Call Home, Packed To The Rafters, Winners and Losers and All Saints, Between Two Worlds is a bold, daring and emotionally gripping Australian drama starring acclaimed British actress Hermione Norris (Luther, Cold Feet), Philip Quast (Picnic At Hanging Rock), Sara Wiseman (A Place To Call Home) and Aaron Jeffery (McLeod’s Daughters).

Is There Anything Else We Need To Know?

There’s not a lot of information about Between Two Worlds currently. We were only made aware of the series last week.

When cameras started rolling in April 2019, TV Tonight spoke to one of the show’s stars, British actress Hermione Norris who will play Cate Walford, the wife of billionaire Phillip Walford. Cate will caught up in her husband’s lies

Norris said:

I am always script-led in decision making and I found Bevan’s script full of well-drawn characters and a page turning narrative – it was a really entertaining read, and fun for me to consider something a little bit different. I think audiences will love the colour and vibrancy of this thrilling and complex narrative – many secrets to be revealed and rivalries to be exposed.

Bevan Lee is one of Australia’s most recognised visionaries. His work is legendary and we cannot wait for Between Two Worlds. Will the show take A Place To Call Home‘s place as on-the-edge-of-your-seat drama? We’re not sure but there’s not much time to wait as it is coming in only a few weeks.

The series was apparently supposed to begin airing late last year, but was pushed to July 2020. We will be covering the series like we did The Secrets She Keeps so stay tuned.
