The Bold and the Beautiful has finally left its never-ending cycle of the love triangle… or has it? – The producers promised a twist, and they gave us just that. The final episode of last week saw Sheila accidentally shoot her son, Finn. This was when he unexpectedly showed up to protect Steffy. It finished on a cliffhanger with Finn seemingly to have bitten the bullet. Literally. However, this begs the question. If the hot doc is dead, does this mean that it paves the way for the Hope/Liam/Steffy love triangle to return?
We won’t know the true fate of Finn until some time in the next lot of episodes. However, there has been a spoiler that has come out for this week where Bill offers Liam sage advice as he has two families. One with Steffy and the other with Hope. Now, we don’t know if this is a hint of what is to come, but we sincerely hope it doesn’t. Fans will be pissed if this happens.
Having Finn come in and break the triangle was a welcome change for a show that has barely survived off endless recycles. You would think that the writers had learned from the Brooke/Ridge/Taylor situation that just because it works for one set of characters doesn’t mean it works for another bunch.
Given that we know a week’s worth of episodes could last hours in-story, it wouldn’t surprise us if we don’t learn Finn’s true fate until next week. However, given that Li returns either this week or next, Finn’s fate might be revealed sooner than we think.
Any Triangle Is A Bad One
Anyway, the triangle between Steffy, Liam, and Hope is bound to resurface regardless of Finn’s fate. Steffy will need to lean on someone. While we believe that someone will be Hope, it’s difficult to say. If it’s Liam, then she has learned nothing. Her husband is recently dead, and she has a son without a father.
Before we go on, this is just a what-if scenario. Furthermore, she can claim the same thing Deacon does every time he’s with Brooke. She [Steffy] never stopped loving her ex-husband. After all, she did whinge to her mother that Hope stole Liam from her. If Finn had heard this, it would have been a slap in the face.
If the triangle does present itself again, people will tune out. It’s bad enough they’ve returned to the Brooke/Ridge/Taylor love triangle. But, if they bring back the one with their children, people will throw up their hands. It’s gotten to the point now that it’s gotten too predictable. One example is the whole Zende/Paris/Carter thing. We all knew that Carter and Paris were going to get it on. Also, it was a no brainer that Grace would somehow become involved.
