Jasmine’s two siblings have arrived in the Bay, and it’s going to take a while for things to seem… typical – The second of Jasmine’s long-lost siblings have shown up in the Bay after Xander arrived on Thursday last week. Rose’s first scene was in the ocean pool, where she meets (and ogles) Cash. Little does she realise upon their first meeting that he’s very much taken. *sighs* It’s going to be a LONG road for the Delaney siblings to become civil.
We’ve covered the Delaney sitch for a few weeks, with Jasmine’s two siblings popping up in recent promos. Well, we’ve gotten a bit more context into who they are to our favourite nurse. So, Xander, who arrived last week and on Irene’s doorstep is the youngest of the three Delaney siblings. Also, Rose is not biologically related to Jasmine.
Delaney Sibling Clear Up
Now, before you all go, “Huh? We thought she was Jasmine’s sister” Let us explain.
According to what Xander tells Jasmine when his parents met, his mother was already pregnant with Rose. His (and Jasmine’s) father raised Rose as his own. It’s similar to how Chloe’s father figure was Ari, as her dad wasn’t around. Legally, Rose and Jasmine are sisters.
Xander alludes to Rose being older than him when he tells Jasmine he was at uni when Rose was working.
So, let’s take it down a notch.
Jasmine and Xander share a father. Xander and Rose share a mother. Jasmine and Rose are NOT biologically related, but they are legally half-siblings.
We hope that clears up the confusion.
Career Paths
We all know that Jasmine is a nurse. However, it looks like Xander will follow in her medical footsteps as his incomplete profile on Back to the Bay reveals he is a paramedic.
Rose, meanwhile, is a cop, which was revealed in the first promo.
What’s Ahead
In the coming week, spoilers have revealed that Jasmine will not back down. She refuses the money which was left to her by her dad. Though, she will break down in the pain that has come back from him abandoning her when she was a child. She hears all these good things about him from Xander, and it makes her wonder why their father left her and started another family.
Rose, meanwhile, stops a robbery after a thief steals money from the Diner till. The guy is arrested, leaving Cash miffed that Rose would enact a citizen’s arrest. She then produces her badge, revealing she’s a cop. Xander and Rose are also going to learn what their dad did to their sister.
