Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – Could Sybok’s Appearance Bring Back Sarek And Amanda?

Sybok might be Spock’s half-brother, but what will Sarek and Amanda say if they find out about the rogue Vulcan? Spock’s in for a world of hurt when his older brother eventually shows up. However, we must consider what their father, Sarek and Spock’s mother, Amanda, will do if they have to intervene. The brothers could not be more different, and the eldest of the two is treated like he doesn’t exist. During the seventh episode of Strange New Worlds, Serene Squall. We learn that Sybok is locked up in the same location T’Pring, Spock’s fiancée works.

When La’an mind-melds with Spock earlier in the season, she discovers Michael’s existence as his foster sister. She questions how he can have a sister when there is no record of him having siblings. Very quickly, she realises that Michael sacrificed herself for him. However, Spock quickly gets her off the topic before she can say anything more.

Now, anyone who has seen Discovery will be aware of why the Discovery and its crew were erased from Starfleet history; to prevent CONTROL from going after them. The only people aware of their survival are the members of the Enterprise who were present. So, what is the reason that Sybok is not referenced in Spock’s file?

It could be anything, but given who their father is, the last thing Sarek wants is Spock’s reputation to be tarnished due to Sybok’s existence. However, Spock’s relationship with Sarek isn’t exactly great either, and he doesn’t rely on his father to get him out of trouble. He might call on Amanda, who then passes the information onto her husband.

Do we need to see Sarek or Amanda for the Sybok storyline to play out further? No, we don’t, but it might be better to show the relationship.
