The late Prince Philip apparently had a soft spot for his granddaughter-in-law, Catherine Middleton. A new rumour has emerged that the late Duke of Edinburgh, the paternal grandfather of Prince William, had a special meal that he made only for Kate. This comes courtesy of Larissa Bona on Twitter, who said she heard the rumour that the Duke showed favouritism towards her.
She goes on to say that whenever Catherine was going to be visiting, Prince Philip always made a particular dish that she loved for himself and her. No one else was allowed to have it.
How true this rumour is, we don’t know, but Catherine had a better reputation with Prince Philip than Meghan Markle did.
Meghan lied and said she and Prince Philip were close because they “both understood what it meant to be outsiders.” Prince Philip never let his feelings about being “an outsider” turn into bitterness. Was he used to being told what to do by a woman? No. Did he like having to walk behind The Queen? Again, no. However, he and The Queen had an understanding. She was the monarch while he was the head of their family.
If Prince Philip weren’t up to the task of being the monarch’s husband, he would never have married The Queen. He loved her enough to give up his career for her and be the head of their family. The only time The Queen ever walked behind Prince Philip was at his funeral.
All Meghan Markle does is complain about being an outsider. All she got was the best of everything that wasn’t good enough for her. In conclusion, Prince Philip likely tolerated her for the sake of Prince Harry. But he had more fondness for Catherine because she understood what it meant to be a royal.
