When News Stories Are Taken Out Of Context

It’s been a while since I’ve written a Life and Times post. So, for this one, I wanted to go over when news stories are often taken out of context. In addition, I want to give massive props to Cheere Denise and NissCee.Social for bringing this topic to my attention.

So, these two ladies are YouTubers with small followings, but they’re part of the Megxiteer community in a sense. One is American, and the other, I believe, is Canadian. Both are tired of Meghan and Harry; I cannot blame them. So, they’ve bought up the whole headline gate thing. So, for those who don’t know, headlines were altered during the Oprah interview in 2021 to make it look like Meghan was the target of a smear campaign when she wasn’t. However, it goes a bit deeper than that.

Denise and NissCee did reviews of Spare, and they noticed something odd. Just a side note here, I haven’t read Spare, but I know enough to be able to talk about it. So, Harry mentions in the book that Meghan was ridiculed for specific actions when Catherine was praised for the same thing.

There is a story where Harry whinges about the headlines about Meghan but doesn’t read the article. However, the one that takes the cake for me is the news stories about avocados. Yes, you read that.

News Stories, Headline Experience

So, the story about Meghan wasn’t about her. According to NissCee, the news story about Meghan and avocados had a negative clickbait article, but it talked about how good they are. The only link Meghan had to the report was the headline, given she is famous for her love of avocado toast.

The story about Catherine spoke about how she, too, loves avocados and how they make her skin glow. Unfortunately, I think she was pregnant when this story came out.

As someone who writes for a living, I can tell you that clickbait titles will get people to click on your article. Trust me, some of my most viewed posts have clickbait-ish tags. At the same time, this was not intentional as I created this website based on trustworthy journalism with solid facts and correct labels of news, opinion (that I don’t always label but should), speculation, and rumour. I always make that clear.

For someone to complain about news stories without reading the whole thing first should how naive and stupid they are. Unfortunately, Harry only sees the negative, and I believe this was programmed well before he met Meghan.
