Gayle King Gives Interesting Response To Royal Racism Question

Gayle King

There was an interesting development at the Ripple of Hope awards earlier in the week, thanks to Oprah Winfrey’s BFF, Gayle King. Daily Mail journalist Jan Moir wrote in her column for MailPlus that she attended the even to see Prince Harry and Meghan’s betrayal firsthand. She spoke to Ms King, who claimed in early 2021, after the Oprah Interview aired, that the Sussexes had ‘receipts’ for everything that had allegedly been done to them and that racism was one of the reasons they left Britain.

What Ms Moir wasn’t expecting was the answer she received from Gayle when she asked if the royals were racist. Here is the exchange:

Jan: “Do you really think the British Royal Family is racist?”

Gayle: “No, I do not. And neither do they [the Sussexes].”

Are we living in an alternate dimension? Almost two years ago, Gayle told the world that Harry’s conversations with Prince William and King Charles (then Prince Charles) were “unproductive.” These were private conversations that she leaked. She also made sexist gaffes about Princess Anne walking in the procession at her father, Prince Philip’s funeral. So, what happened?

What Game Is Gayle Playing?

Part of us wants to think this is part of the Sussexes’ plan to ride off into the sunset and be quiet. We know it’s never simple with those two. Did Gayle know who she was talking to? Who knows, but Piers Morgan had something fascinating to say on his talk show about what Jan wrote. Sue Smith included a clip in her recent video where the guest’s jaws fell to the floor when Piers bought it up.

Sue also theorised that it was possible that Gayle was playing nice. With the King’s coronation coming up so she could get invited to cover the event. It’s plausible. We can believe that. A lot has changed since the Oprah Interview.

Is it possible that Harry and Meghan wanted to edit the docuseries, as previously stated, as they wanted the invite? Could Gayle have acted as their door? Possible, but given the griping they did, it’s strongly unlikely they will get the green light. We could be wrong as they were invited to Christmas, as they always have been, and they turned it down. It could be that they realised the racism allegations wouldn’t match up with their narrative this time around.

For all we know, they get the invite, turn it down, and do their usual, “we’re busy”, or we say, “we weren’t invited.”
