Another A-list celebrity male has been accused of sexual assault. This time, it’s Chris Noth. Now, for those who don’t know who this guy is, his biggest role was as Sarah Jessica Parker’s main squeeze, Mister Big on Sex and the City. Anywho, since his character was killed off in the spin-off series, women have started coming forward to accuse him of sexual misconduct. Do we believe them? Yeah, we do, but that’s not what matters. What does is that the actor is denying he assaulted them, and it was consensual.
Now, this is a pattern with A-list men who have been accused of sexual assault. We’ve seen it with Harvey Weinstein and Ansel Elgort as per Alex Stedman of Variety. Given Chris Noth and his career, it’s easy to see why he would deny allegations this serious. His career is too valuable to him. However, if it were one or two people, then we’d question it. But, since multiple women have come out against the Sex and the City alumni and he’s been dumped by brands, as mentioned by Andrea Towers of Entertainment Weekly, then it’s serious.
Given that Chris Noth is a pretty deal amongst Hollywood as he was cast in The Equalizer alongside Queen Latifah. He also teamed up with Ryan Reynolds to do an ad for Peloton. Anyway, like all people accused of sexual misconduct, he has denied it and said it was consensual.
Chris Noth Is Part Of A Disturbing Pattern
The pattern, as we’ve mentioned, is downright disturbing on so many levels. Just because he’s a beloved figure who happens to be white, he thinks he can get away with lying. Since it became a headlining topic, the #MeTooMovement has been relentless. People have been instantly cancelled because of it. While we don’t think cancel culture should a thing if someone voices a differing opinion to the overwhelming one, we do believe that people who sexually assault others and have multiple victims need to be culled.
Yes, that might be harsh, but it’s the truth, especially when the alleged perpetrators are A-list men with the power to silence their victims.
Also, it’s surprising that the co-stars of Chris Noth have not come out to defend him. Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristen Davis and Cynthia Nixon issued a joint statement in support of the women. These three, in particular, have known him for years and are friends with him. So, to go against him was a ballsy move. After all, friends support friends.
