What Role Did C-3PO Play In Revenge Of The Sith?

C-3PO, Revenge of the Sith

C-3PO, affectionately known as 3PO, has been a staple in Star Wars since the original film in 1977. Often seen as the comic relief alongside his friend and counterpart, R2-D2, we learned in the prequel trilogy that the future Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker, created him. Three years before the fall of the Galactic Republic, the droid was presented to Senator Padmé Amidala as a wedding gift from Skywalker. However, what was the role C-3PO played in the third prequel, Revenge of the Sith?

Before we start, it’s been a while since we saw the movie so we might miss a few scenes. Also, we will not be including deleted scenes.

The protocol droid is first seen when Anakin, Obi-Wan and Palpatine return to Coruscant. 3PO is part of the welcome party.

Scene two is when Padmé is seen worrying about Anakin, and C-3PO tries to comfort her and says he feels helpless.

C-3PO appears shortly after the second scene when Anakin leaves for Mustafar. This is also when the droids R2 that Anakin is under much stress.

C-3PO Appears Mostly In The Last Half Of Revenge Of The Sith

In the last part of the film, C-3PO has a medium-sized role. He appears with Padmé and Captain Typho before they board the senator’s ship for Mustafar.

3PO also helps Padmé pilot the ship. He and R2 then help get an unconscious Padmé back onto the ship after Anakin force-chokes her.

When Obi-Wan returns from his lightsaber duel with Anakin and leaves him for dead, he is greeted by C-3PO, who tells him he and R2 got the senator onboard and they need to go.

The last time C-3PO is seen is when Bail Organa has Captain Antilles take in both 3PO and R2, asks him to take good care of them, and tells him to have the protocol droid’s mind wiped.
