Who Was Sticky In The Proud Family? Why Does He Not Appear In The Revival?

During the early 2000s, The Proud Family was a breakout show that put the African-American community on full display. Sticky Webb, played by That’s So Raven alumni Orlando Brown, was a major player as one of Penny Proud’s best friends. He was also the one-sided love interest of Dijonay Jones, Penny’s best friend.

Sticky was the creative one who always had a video camera in hand and constantly evaded Dijonay’s romantic advances.

In the revival series, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, Sticky appears in a non-speaking cameo in one scene of the first episode of the first season. There is a reason for this.

Orlando Brown’s Issue With The Law

Orlando Brown has been in a ton of trouble in recent years. He was not welcomed back to the role of Eddie Thomas in Raven’s Home either. The character isn’t even mentioned. So, what gives?

He has gotten into much legal trouble, including a domestic abuse charge. According to a February 2023 article by Page Six, he is currently undergoing a mental health assessment after being arrested in December 2022. This would not be the first time a Disney Channel actor has gone off the rails. Miley Cyrus did so before Hannah Montana had even finished airing. Demi Lovato had her own period of issues and continues to struggle. Even Kyle Massey, Orlando’s That’s So Raven costar, has problems with the law.

Orlando, at one point, told Doctor Phil McGraw that he was the son of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson when he wasn’t. In the same interview, he claimed to have four children and that one was 18, meaning he [Orlando] would’ve had to be at least 13 when the child was born if the story was true. He is currently homeless and has been living with his brother. He’s allegedly married with a child, also.

Dijonay Moves On From Sticky In The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder

Returning to Louder and Prouder, Sticky is sent to Japan after his dad gets a new job. He leaves Penny a note explaining why he’s going and that she shouldn’t tell Dijonay as he cannot stand her obsessive nature over him.

Sticky has been mentioned at least once since he left in a storyline involving Dijonay moving with another guy.
