We got an unexpected update on DWTS this morning…
Okay, so remember when we said Dancing with the Stars got cancelled? Well, we got an update on DWTS and it’s good news… sorta. The series is due to return but not to Network 10. It is going back to Channel 7 for 2021.
This was revealed by Australian Entertainment reporter Peter Ford on Twitter via TV Blackbox. According to the article, Channel 7 has taken back the rights for the reality dance series after it was axed from Network 10 due to poor ratings during it’s 2020 season.
There is also a rumour floating around that the show’s original co-host Sonia Kruger would return to her role that she left in 2011. If she were to come back, it would mark 10 years since her initial departure. For now, it is a rumour and nothing more. Also, it would come off the back off the success of the newest version of Big Brother.
As for a host and judges, it’s unknown at this time whether any of the originals will return. It would be awesome if they placed Craig Revel Horwood and Todd McKenny together at the judges table. Talk about how hilarious it would be. Anyway, this is still speculation even if there are articles out there saying that it’s true.
There has been no confirmation from Channel 7 that it is true. Until we have it confirmed officially, we’re going to take it with a grain of salt. As demeaning as that might be, it’s better than being a tabloid site and just dishing out garbage. No, we want to be about give an update on DWTS that is true. We’re not afraid to admit that. Also, we weren’t calling anyone out, just for the record. That’s not what this post is about.
So, when we have more of an update on DWTS, you’ll be the first know.
