The Bold And The Beautiful

The Bold And The Beautiful Is Back With Restrictions In Place!

It’s been a tough couple of months for The Bold and the Beautiful as they haven’t been able to resume filming after all productions across the world were shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, they have gone back into the studio and have become the first Hollywood production to do so. There is a catch to how scenes are shot as there are restrictions in place.

The Bold and the Beautiful has gone back into production with a few restrictions in place. In a post-COVID-19 world, it is important to ensure the safety of all cast and crew. So, what exactly do we know about the show re-entering the studio? Let’s find out!

Intimate Scenes

You cannot have The Bold and the Beautiful without sex or kissing scenes. Editing and camera techniques will be used for smooch sessions while body doubles (aka the real life partners of the actors and blow up dolls) will be used for sex scenes.

We know how that sounds, but if it’s what they need to do, so be it. The real-life partners who will be filling in for the actors’ on-screen love interests will need to wear wigs. As for camera tricks, depending on the situation the cast will be required to do kissing scenes on their own and the shots will be lined up in post-production to make it look like one full shot.

This is a similar situation to a scene in Thor: The Dark World where Chris Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataky filled in for Natalie Portman for a kissing scene where she was required to wear a wig. This scene was a reshoot that Portman was unable to attend.

Masks And Social Distancing

When actors are not acting, they are required to wear masks. Not to mention, there is a social distancing limit in place where the cast will be permitted to stand or sit up to 2 metres away from their scene partner. This might prove difficult for the current storyline involving Wyatt, Penny, Flo, and Sally.

There is also a limit in place for how many people can be in a scene at any one time. This includes how many on set including crew.

Shorter Work Days

Restrictions have also been put in place for shorter work days for the cast and crew. This will be done due to regular testing for the virus.
