Mike And Zara Tindall Criticism Backfires On Omid Scobie

Mike

Meghan Markle’s biggest fanboy, Omid Scobie, has a new target in his sights; Mike and Zara Tindall. In an op-ed he wrote for Yahoo, the nephew-in-law of King Charles, Mike Tindall, has come under fire from supposed royal reporter Omid Scobie. Well, the Sussex flying monkey has come under fire himself… again for his comments.

For those who don’t know, Mike Tindall was once an English Rugby player before he met and married Zara Phillips, the daughter of Princess Anne, the Princess Royal and the niece of King Charles. Unlike most of her cousins, Zara has no title and has never been taxpayer-funded. She and her brother, Peter Phillips, have always been private citizens. Scobie, the royal executive editor for Yahoo, fails to realise these facts. Mike will participate in the upcoming UK edition of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here. She [Zara] has a sponsorship deal with the clothing brand Musto as per 9Honey.

Scobie’s argument for his criticism of the former rugby player and his equestrian champion wife is that they’re part of the royal family and shouldn’t be profiting off their status. He goes one step further in a vain attempt to make his argument valid; he uses Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as examples.

Harry And Meghan Do NOT Compare To Mike And Zara

The Sussexes are criticised because they use their royal titles to profit. However, there is a massive difference between the Tindalls and the Sussexes. As stated before, the Tindalls do NOT hold titles, nor do their three children. Therefore, they have NEVER been taxpayer-funded. The Sussexes, meanwhile, were taxpayer-funded.

Scobie might claim to be a royal reporter, but he’s not. He’s barely an unbiased journalist. Instead, he is a hack who somehow lives a life of luxury. Something tells us that his daddy pays for everything.

Moving onto Zara, despite being the King’s niece and the late Queen’s eldest granddaughter, she is a renowned horse rider. She, like her husband, had a career before marriage. Mrs Tindall attends family events but doesn’t have the same privileges as others. She also doesn’t throw her family under the bus the way Harry has.

Close Family Ties

Zara is also incredibly close to Charles, William and other family members. So close that William is godfather to her eldest daughter, Mia. She was close to Harry for a long time. He, too, was named godfather of her middle child and second daughter, Lena, though it is not officially confirmed, according to Town and Country. Zara is godmother to William’s eldest son, Prince George.

Mike and Zara’s closeness to the royals is apparent. So much so that it’s almost a given that they will be the lift of a public gathering. The Platinum Jubilee is a fun example. Mia, Mike and Zara’s eldest daughter, was cuddling Catherine. Meanwhile, Mike is seen telling playful Prince Louis to behave.

There have also been photos of Mike with Prince George on his shoulders over the years. Mike is a second brother to William, replacing the Prince of Wales’ biological brother, Harry. The late Queen and Prince Philip had a soft spot for the rugby player.

Mike might not be a royal by blood, but he dedicates his time to specific causes. He even joined forces with the Duchess of Gloucester to raise awareness for Parkinson’s Disease, as per The Sun. This is not a royal engagement, as he did it on his own time. It is also a cause he feels strongly about, as his dad has Parkinson’s.

Mike, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! And Scobie’s High Horse

Depending on what happens with I’m a Celebrity, Mike may raise money for a Parkinson’s Disease charity. Scobie needs to get off his high horse and find another subject, as he doesn’t put in the time to research anything that is not fed to him by Meghan and Harry.

It is doubtful that Mike will betray the royal by doing the show, as it is not in his nature to backstab people. He likely spoke with the family before he signed on. We wish him the best of luck. It will be interesting to see how long he lasts. Moreover, it would be the ideal story to tell at family Christmases.

In conclusion, Mike and, by extension, Zara did nothing wrong. However, Scobie needed a story to fill his quota and decided to pick on the Tindalls.
