RIP Jerry Stiller!

Today we say goodbye to one of the world’s finest comedians. Jerry Stiller, better known as dad to Larry Daley himself, Ben Stiller, has died at the grand old age of 92. The comedian’s death comes almost five years after his wife, Anne Meara, died in 2015.

Generations of fans love him. He is best known for his roles in Seinfeld, The Lion King 1 1/2, and the original Hairspray movie, where he played Wilbur Turnblad. He also appears in the remake Hairspray where he played Mister Pinky in a scene with John Travolta and Nikki Blonsky, where he gets to sing…. kinda… Honestly? It was one of the best scenes in the whole movie!

Stiller’s son, Ben, posted the following tweet about his father’s death:

Ben, his children, and his sister Amy survive Jerry Stiller.

The world is mourning one of its finest funny men, and we’re grieving alongside the Stiller family. We’re thinking of you, Ben, Amy, and the Stiller clan! Hollywood will never be the same with that energy that Jerry Stiller always provided with every character he played.

We Love You, Jerry Stiller – RIP, Legend!

We love you, Jerry Stiller and your work will always be remembered as original, classic, and timely! Also, all we can hear as we write this tribute to you is your voice as you played Timon’s Uncle Max in The Lion King 1 1/2 and something about… predators ripping meerkats limb from limb and clapping without any hands? Been a while since we watched it!

You will forever be in our thoughts, inspiring many of us to embrace our funny bones. RIP you, legend! Did we mention the world lost one of its great comedy legends? Oh, we did? Okay.
