How Leia Helped Restore Obi-Wan’s Faith In Himself

Only a true Skywalker knows how to restore one’s faith in themselves. Obi-Wan Kenobi showed fans that Obi-Wan could fight back and become the wise hermit he was in A New Hope. He just required a little push to get there, which happened because of a little girl named Leia.

Leia embodied the best parts of both her biological parents. Her kindness towards droids was inherited from her father, while her need to wield a blaster came from her mother. But her hopefulness allowed Obi-Wan to pull himself out of his darkened stupor. The princess put all her faith in the former Jedi Master to get her home to Alderaan, and he pushed himself to do so, not for himself, but for what Padmé would have wanted for her daughter.

Padmé And Anakin Would’ve Been Incredible Parents

Padmé would have been an extraordinary mother to both of her children had she lived. Anakin would’ve been their devoted father had he not turned to the dark side. He already had child-rearing experience as he watched his teenage Padawan Ahsoka grow into the young woman she would become. He also had been around young Hutt Rotta for a short time.

Before the mission to rescue Leia, Obi-Wan’s faith in the outside world has been shattered. Despite being a decade since Anakin’s fall to the Dark Side, Kenobi blamed himself the entire time. He was watching over Luke because he did not see the signs of his apprentice’s descent sooner. It also seemed that Owen Lars, Anakin’s stepbrother, blamed him, too, as he couldn’t stand Obi-Wan.

If Anakin hadn’t turned to the Dark Side, he would have commended Ob-Wan for restoring his faith in the Force. He would have even applauded his daughter for helping his longtime friend through his dark time.

Leia put all her faith in Obi-Wan when she barely knew him. She even trusted their new friend Tala to help get her home. The adults succeeded even if Tala lost her life in the process. While she mightn’t have realised it, the little princess inherited many of her biological parents’ traits, even if she didn’t know them. Also, her ability to chew out her cousin Niano Organa was something both her parents would’ve done in their own ways.

Obi-Wan had given up hope of ever being able to get Anakin back from the clutches of the Dark Side. Even though Leia restored his faith in the Force, he still believed his former apprentice was a lost cause.
