Home and Away is well-known for not dragging its storylines out for the sake of it. In recent episodes, Felicity Newman has become tired of being the victim after an unknown person raped her during Battle of the Bands. She has been on a downward spiral, even conning her brother and local police officer Cash out of $10k to pay the bastard who violated her.
In this week’s episodes, Felicity has finally gotten the upper hand. Last week’s episodes set up her tricking her rapist into taking a bag of fake money (actually paper).
During Monday’s episode, she hides in her car as she sees the man take the money out of the assigned garbage bin. She then starts snapping photos on her phone. Elsewhere, a livid Cash lays into his brother-in-law, Tane, for not telling him sooner about what his sister has had to deal with.
In true Home and Away style, the pair can track Felicity down, who then tells them she “got him.” At first, it looked like she had run the guy over. However, this isn’t the case.
Cash uses the photos as a blueprint to build a profile on the guy who violated his sister. He manages to pull the name and address of the potential rapist. Knowing he cannot become personally involved in arresting him, Cash calls Rose in for help. She goes out and comes back with the accused.
Felicity and Tane are present when the guy walks into the police station. Felicity suddenly feels sick and has to step out for air.
Cash is far from happy with Felicity for not telling him sooner about the extortion. However, he is willing to let it slide for the time being. When the guy is bought into the station, he has to maintain his composure. This worries Rose as she knows how protective he is of his sister.
Felicity mentions that she remembers seeing the guy at Battle of the Bands.
In a promo clip for what’s to come, Rose reveals encrypted files on the alleged rapist’s phone. This means Felicity is not the only person he has violated. How this storyline ends is anyone’s guess, but we’re excited to see that good will win at the end of the day. Though, the Felicity storyline is not entirely over, especially when it comes to Mac.
