Did Q Appear In Star Trek: Picard?

Q, Star Trek: Picard

Oh yes, Q. The entity known as Q is a Q. We don’t don’t make the rules when it comes to sharing your name with your apparent species. Anyway, the question we’ve asked to answer is whether he appeared in Star Trek: Picard.

We have an answer to that, and it is yes. He did appear in nine episodes. He appeared in eight episodes of Star Trek: Picard Season 2 and one of Season 3, where he interacts with Beverly Crusher and Jean-Luc’s son, Jack, who had heard the stories about Q from his father. John de Lancie once again played him as he was in his original appearances.

Q first appeared in Star Trek in The Next Generation Season 1 episode Encounter at Farpoint. He would appear in seven other TNG episodes over the course of the show’s run. He would appear in one episode of Deep Space 9, continue to be an annoyance in three episodes of Voyager and one episode (so far) of Lower Decks. Q has been referenced several times throughout Lower Decks, primarily by Brad Biomler and Beckett Mariner. Mariner mainly.

Q Junior was played by one of John’s sons. We can only imagine when creator Gene Roddenberry created the character of Q how complicated it must have sounded to the cast of Next Generation when they read the character’s name and how it was the same as his species and how he wasn’t even human or any other species known to the Star Trek world at that time.
