What is it with Scientologists always getting away with crimes? In the case of That’s 70s Show actor Danny Masterson, he is going away for thirty years for rape. While we all know well that went down, it’s not him we wanted to discuss. It’s his wife, Bijou Phillips, that we’ll talk about.

Bijou is a half-sister of Mackenzie and Chynna Phillips of the girl group Wilson Phillips. They share a father, John Phillips.

Mackenzie’s Allegations

In 2009, Mackenzie released her memoir, High on Arrival, which alleged that she had been in an incestuous relationship with her father. The night before her 1979 wedding, when she was 19, she claims her dad had raped her. When she confronted him about it, he allegedly said, “Raped you? Don’t you mean we made love?” She later became pregnant, but she didn’t know who the father was. John paid for an abortion.

The allegations caused mixed reactions from Mackenzie’s circle, including Bijou. Bijou and her mother, the late Genevieve Waite, claimed it was a lie that John would do something so disgusting. However, Michelle Phillips, John’s second wife, said it was untrue. Chynna, meanwhile, said she believed Mackenzie.

Bijou Phillips Defends Her Husband, Danny Masterson

Fast-forward to 2023, and Danny Masterson is found guilty and sentenced to 30 years for the rape of two women. A third was thrown out as the verdict ended in deadlock. Bijou backs her husband one thousand per cent, and she breaks down when he gets sentenced.

We don’t know much about Bijou’s relationship with her half-sisters as they are much older than her. There is also little information on her relationship with her brother, Tamerlane. It sounds like John had a way of worming out of situations.

It has been said that when Bijou was ten, Mackenzie told her what their father allegedly did to her. She has gone on record to say that she does not believe her sister’s claims, and while John was a lot of things, a rapist wasn’t one of them. This is the same tactic she is using with Danny.
