Home And Away: Is Chloe Becoming Obsessed With Bella?

Chloe

Ari’s death has pushed his family to move on without him, but is a struggling Chloe becoming obsessed with Bella? – Last night’s Home and Away has given us something interesting. Now that Nikau and Tane are back from New Zealand, having taken Ari’s body home for burial, they’ve reunited with their girlfriends. However, with Mia struggling to cope, Chloe has no one to turn to in her time of need. She thought returning to work would help, but it hasn’t. Also, she is not with Ryder anymore. Plus, she’s avoiding Theo like the plague, relationship-wise.

Bella has been there for her as she understands what it’s like to lose that sense of familial connection. After all, her father murdered her mother and Colby’s dad before he [Ross] was killed by Colby, which resulted in the cop going to prison. What’s more, Bella had Dean and Willow help her through it.

Going back to Chloe, her family is dealing with Ari’s sudden passing in their own ways. Nikau and Tane spent so much time away from Bella and Felicity that they’re now making up for it. This is why Nik and Bella needed time away from Chloe.

Chloe Fakes A Breakdown

While mental health is a serious issue that needs addressing at all times, Chloe weaponises her grief to get what she wants; Bella’s attention on her. Now, we know the pair have never been friends. Bella even said this a few episodes ago.

Bella and Nik don’t know it yet, but Chloe is becoming clingy and is painting herself as a burden. She doesn’t want her cousin to spend time with his girlfriend. She goes into the bathroom and pretends to have a breakdown, which can be heard on the other side of the door.

This might be a nitpick, but it’s bad acting on Sam Barrett’s part. She’s a good actress, but this is not her best acting moment in trying to get her character to fake a breakdown while trying to appear like she’s making it up. Before we go back into the post, we want to be clear that we’re not bashing Sam. We’re critiquing her. There’s a difference.

Anyway, when Chloe and Mia first showed up in the Bay, we were left questioning why Ari would love someone who is so self-righteous. Mia and, therefore, Chloe come across as goody-two-shoes. However, hiding what happened to Matthew shows that they are not perfect women.

It’s eye-rolling that Chloe would fake tears for attention. It suits her personality down to a tee. Now, there’s nothing wrong with being determined, but for her to play on someone else’s emotions for sympathy is just annoying.

Not The First Time Obsession Has Come Into Play

Chloe is not the first character to full into obsessiveness over someone. Just a couple of years ago, Jasmine fell into a state of depression after the death of her husband, Robbo. To help her cope, she became overly attached to her stepdaughter, Grace.

Grace’s mum, Tori, became concerned when Jasmine started demanding to see the baby. Nikau accidentally kidnaps Grace, and Jasmine freaks out and attempts to make Tori out to be a bad mother for leaving her child vulnerable in the car.

We’re not going to go over the Anne situation that recently played out as it was a plot device for Tane and Felicity to realise their feelings for each other. There was also a storyline about a decade ago with Alf’s granddaughter, Martha, and Jack Holden’s wedding where it was blown up by Eve McCallister, a crazy lady obsessed with Sarah Lewis who killed Noah Lawson a few years earlier.

Chloe Is Willing To Hurt Nikau And Bella’s Potential Departure

As evident in last night’s episode, Chloe is more than willing to hurt her stepcousin [Nikau] to get Bella to herself. Her obsession hasn’t become obvious to Nik and Bella yet. Though, it will, as things like this always do. Moreover, this will likely be one of the last storylines we see Bella in. Back to the Bay has reported that actress Courtney Miller hasn’t been seen on set or location in months. BttB has also stated that Courtney might now be living in Melbourne to focus on her art career.

Now, we don’t know if this is true, but given Courtney’s social media activity, it’s possible. Depending on her exit storyline, this would indicate that Bella and Nikau probably break up or try the long-distance thing. There has been nothing hinted at that Nikau is leaving the show. Kawakawa Fox-Reo [Nikau] was seen filming a little while ago with Ethan Browne [Tane] and an actor playing an upcoming character, allegedly named Tex.
