What does it mean to have a royal childhood?
Childhood is about learning who you are. For the Cambridge and Sussex kids, theirs are very different. Prince George, his sister Princess Charlotte, and brother Prince Louis are growing up to be amazing little humans. We don’t see them a lot, we know enough about them from what their parents, Prince William and Catherine mention. We also see their faces as their mother takes about 98% of the photos released. This cannot be said for their cousin, Archie.
Archie’s childhood and that of his soon-to-be born little sister will differ greatly to that of their cousins. First off, they don’t have titles and won’t until their grandfather, Prince Charles becomes King of England. Though, it mightn’t happen as the Prince of Wales wants to scale down the monarchy to not include anyone who is not in direct line to the throne.
Anyway, these two sets of royal children are growing up in very different ways. We thought we’d add a bit more context to it.
The Sussex Kids
Archie Harrison and his not-yet-born sister will be raised in America without the extended family their older royal cousins have had the luxury of knowing. Their mother, Meghan, doesn’t talk to anyone from either side of her family except her own mother, Doria. She sees her family as an embarrassment and then cut them all off when they were of no use to her.
While it is pure speculation, Meghan wanted to take her husband and son back to America as she couldn’t hack being a royal. Then, they conceived a daughter who is a ‘blessing’ to them after they suffered a miscarriage in July last year.
Unlike their older cousins, Archie and his sister will grow up with celebrity kids like Jessica Mulroney’s kids and Katharine McPhee-Foster’s son. They may never know their royal relatives if their mother has anything to say about it. Look at how Meghan allegedly treated Princess Charlotte.
How these two kids will grow up is anyone’s guess but if we had to make a prediction, we’d say this. Given the Hollywood lifestyle, their parents are raising them in, it’s possible that they’ll grow up snobby and being liars. Will they come to resent their cousins? If their mother has her way, possibly. Will their father allow it? Harry hasn’t stopped his wife’s lies so far so what is it going to take to have him prevent his children from becoming liars themselves?
What doesn’t help is that Harry and Meghan seem to believe they’re safer in America than they were in the UK and their children are being shielded. They’ve wheeled Archie out for a number of times for PR opportunities.
The Cambridge Children
Who doesn’t love the Cambridge children? These three little royals are being given the childhood they should have. They have an assortment of cousins to get to know and be close to; like Zara and Mike Tindall’s three children, Mia, Lena, and baby Lucas which was mentioned by Mike during an interview on Good Morning Britain.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have grown up in private and have gone out in public on occasion with their parents. The world has loved seeing them when it is deemed appropriate. This is in contrast to their cousin Archie. He’s only appeared in public like three times. The Cambridge children have only seen their younger cousin once when he was a newborn. It is unlikely that they will meet their new female cousin.
The children are growing up to be kind and thoughtful and interested in the outside world. Look at how tough Princess Charlotte is when she asks Sir David Attenborough if he likes spiders. Having brothers will make any little girl strong. They’re also not afraid to play in the dirt and rough house around. Somehow we doubt Meghan would allow Archie to do any of this.
Finally, the Cambridge children have a great relationship with their grandparents. They interact with both the Middletons and Prince Charles and Camilla who is their third granny. Speaking of the Duchess of Cornwall, she had this to say about what her husband is like as a grandparent as per the BBC Documentary Prince, Son, and Heir: Charles at 70 as read in Hello Magazine:
He will get down on his knees and crawl about with them for hours, you know making funny noises and laughing.

Conclusion
To conclude, childhood is different for everyone. For some, it’s rich and vibrant with a large supportive family. For others, they are cut off from their family for one reason or another. No family is ever perfect but to deprive children of their elder relatives who love them is a low blow for anyone.
Catherine and William have allowed their children into the public eye but on their terms. They’re not being stalked and there have been no known kidnapping attempts given how much information has been kept private. Harry and Meghan, however, are paranoid so they moved their son to the other side of the world to a country where paparazzi are lurking everywhere.
Archie was better protected in the UK.
