Babes Against Bullshit: The World Does Not Revolve Around Charli D’Amelio

revolve

How dense are some social media influencers? Do they not realise the world doesn’t revolve around them and their need for attention? There was a little bit of drama today which was made aware of through THIS article by Pedestrian. According to the publication, TikTok legend Charli D’Amelio found herself in more hot water on Twitter when a hashtag #hereforcharli started to trend.

D’Amelio thought the hashtag was for supporting her… okay… here’s a screenshot of what she tweeted out and than deleted:

Being the absent-minded influencer she is, Charli D’Amelio went out and said that she loved her fans for making her the star she is now. Umm… how she a star when she quite literally dances in TikTok videos and she and her sister were little brats to their father’s favourite chef. They’re not famous because they’ve done anything good.

Anyway, the #hereforcharli hashtag was actually showing support for singer Charli XCX who is grieving the loss of her friend and fellow musician SOPHIE. Here’s the response from an apparent follower of D’Amelio

Now, I don’t care if Charli D’Amelio is a teenager who became famous. The world does not revolve around her. She isn’t the only ‘Charli’ in the world. The first one that comes to mind is Charli Robinson who was a member of Hi-5.

D’Amelio needs look into whether things are about her. If she had looked further into the hashtag she would have realised that it was not about her. Deleting that tweet was the best thing she could’ve done. The last thing she would need right now is people telling her off more.

From what I’ve seen from a few commentary YouTube channels, Charli [D’Amelio] is in trouble for going on holiday in the middle of the pandemic.

Revolve Does Not Mean Party It Up

Like a lot of influencers, Charli doesn’t seem to understand that despite having 107 million fans on TikTok, doesn’t mean the platform and others you’re on has to revolve around you.

D’Amelio needs to real wake up call. Fame is not always about the money or the glamour. Just because you’re a big star doesn’t mean that everything has to revolve around you. Think about all the other people who share things with you. A name. Social media accounts. A career.

My point is, when you have a good thing going, try and do something constructive with your fame. Don’t waste it on mistaking a trending hashtag for something that isn’t about you.
