Affectionately known by their granddaughter Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) as Grandpa and Grandma England, King George V and Queen Mary were quite the couple. Queen Mary was originally betrothed to George’s older brother, Albert Victor, but he died before they could wed. There are so few about King George V and Queen Mary that it would make royal book lovers cry. Of all the book lists that we’ve written thus far, this one was probably the hardest as finding books on the late Queen’s grandparents is almost as hard as finding ones on the current Princess of Wales, Catherine.
We will be exploring Amazon (non-sponsored, of course) for these titles. Like with the list of Prince William and Prince Harry books, we will divide it up as there are books on King George V and Queen Mary. We have also included a novel or two as there are not enough factual books on the subject to fill out an entire page. We’ve done lists on Meghan Markle, King Charles III, books published by royals and books on royal events. Oh, and Princess Diana and Wallis Simpson.
