Bryce Dallas Howard has made quite the name for herself in Hollywood. She started as an actor, continuing her famous family’s legacy. Then, she followed in her dad’s footsteps and became a director. However, there is a significant difference between Bryce and Ron. She still acts. One of her early roles in the early 2000s was in Spider-Man 3.
She played Gwen Stacy, a character in Marvel comics since 1965. Famously, she was a love interest to Peter Parker a substitute to Mary Jane Watson. In Spider-Man 3, Gwen is an old friend of Peter’s who was his lab partner. She also dated Eddie Brock, who later became Venom.
During Spider-Man 3, Peter starts having trouble with his relationship with Mary Jane. After he rescues her (as Spider-Man), he tells her to kiss him to make MJ jealous.
Gwen then ditches Eddie for Peter, whom the symbiote has infected, which later attaches to Brock. Realising that Parker attempts to upset Watson, she apologises to Mary Jane before leaving Peter in the dust.
Bryce Dallas Howard Behind The Scenes
Bryce Dallas Howard has said that she would love to play the character again if she was asked. However, she now believes the time might have passed for her to return to the role. Initially, if Spider-Man 4 had been made, Gwen, like the Emma Stone iteration, would have died alongside James Cromwell’s George Stacy. If the film had gone ahead, it would been a mirror to the comics where both characters die.
Finally, Howard also revealed her surprise while promoting Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom that she had no idea Gwen was a superhero.
