Tales of the Jedi gave us insight into Ahsoka and Count Dooku but also issued another look at Tano’s relationships with Anakin and Padmé. Ahsoka might be the brainchild of Dave Filoni, and he’s incorporated her into many projects outside of The Clone Wars. With her limited live-action series coming in 2023, the former Padawan took centre-stage in the shorts series Tales of the Jedi. Three episodes centred on aspects of Ahsoka’s life, while three others focused on Count Dooku.
Insight Into Ahsoka’s Training That Saved Her Life During Order 66
Two episodes of the three on Tano saw Ahsoka interact with her master, Anakin Skywalker and his wife, Padmé Amidala. The first, entitled “Practice Makes Perfect”, has the Chosen One annoyed that training modules at the Jedi Temple were too basic for his apprentice. So, he takes matters into his own hands and recruits the help of the 501st Clones to teach her to adapt to real-life scenarios.
This training allows Ahsoka to survive Order 66. She can use what Anakin taught her to her advantage as he intended. This small insight was the most intriguing about the Skywalker/Tano moment in the series. Moreover, these teachings enabled her to survive her fight with her old master on Malachor almost twenty years later.
Ahsoka’s Insight Into How Much She Knew About Anakin And Padmé’s Relationship
During the final short, entitled “Resolve”, Ahsoka is depicted as one of the mourners at Padmé’s funeral, a fact that we didn’t know until now. Now, this tells us two things. First, Ahsoka would’ve learned of the senator’s pregnancy by seeing her body on display. It’s been unclear since Tano’s interaction with Luke Skywalker in The Book of Boba Fett how she knew about him. Also, it’s still unknown if she was aware of Princess Leia.
One thing we want to point out here is that given Ahsoka’s association with Bail Organa, there is no way the senator would’ve been able to keep his daughter a secret. Leia’s existence as an Organa was common knowledge. However, her true parentage was only known to a select few, including Queen Breha.
The Truth Ahsoka Would’ve Pieced Together
Having been friendly with Padmé, Ahsoka would’ve known who Leia’s birth parents were. Moreover, this brings us to the second thing. Given the Luke connection from The Book of Boba Fett, “Resolve” gives us that extra insight into how deep Tano’s link to the Skywalkers went. Her friendship with Padmé and Anakin was deep enough that she lived with keeping their marriage a secret.
This is backed up in the Forces of Destiny episode, “Unexpected Company”, where Ahsoka sees things she shouldn’t. She then promises the senator that she won’t say anything. Moreover, this adds more insight into what she tells Anakin before she walks away from the Jedi Order. Also, the look on Skywalker’s face makes more sense now than it initially did when the episode aired.
Ahsoka was well-versed in how Anakin operated, having been around him a lot during the war. She would’ve been aware that he’d sneak out of the Temple at night. Also, she knew how often Padmé would change the subject whenever Skywalker was mentioned.
Since Luke carried the last name Skywalker, it wouldn’t have taken much for Ahsoka to work out who his parents were.
